Is there a way to turn on just the fog lights? I did a search but couldn't find anything. I know it is possible, just don't know how to do it. I would like to be able to run just parking/fog without the LB being on. Also would be nice if the fogs stayed on when HB were on. (i know, legalities, off road use only :) ) I would like to use the stock switch still, not completly bypass to a new switch.

Theres a DIY on the Elantraclub.com

Independent Fog Light (http://elantragtclub.tripod.com/elantra/id384.html)

There are 2 steps depending on how far you want to take it. The first step is easy (which is what i did). 1st step allows you to operate the fog lights with the parking lights on.
The second step is a little harder, but allows you to use the fogs without parking or headlights on.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping, looks easy enough. I have an 05, do you know if it is the same? (DIY lists 01-04)

Yes, it's the same. I've messed around there and I can vouch for it. The only difference might be the colors of the wires, but the pin positions are all the same.

Here's the schematic for the 04-06:

I forget how this tie in works but you may lose the off with ignition feature which could leave you with a dead battery if you didn't realize you left your fogs on...

Nope. You still have the off with ignition feature.

Looking at the lower left quadrant of the schematic, if you disconnect Pin 13 from Pin 10, then ground Pin 13 to either Pin 1 or 17 on Connector M01-2 (the blinker switch connector), you still get the auto shutoff feature, because the high end of the circuit draws power from Fuse 6 which is driven by the tail light relay, so when the auto off feature of the ETACM shuts off the tail lights, the fog lights also turn off.

Just bear in mind that if you do that mod, the fog lights will stay on with your high beams, which is illegal in many states. You can make them turn off automatically when high beams are turned on by hooking a normally closed relay into the fog light circuit somewhere that is driven by the high beam indicator circuit (so that when high beams come on, the normally closed relay goes to open and the fogs shut off). I did this with the aftermarket fog lights on my Elantra.

The only difference on my '04 was one wire was yellow that was supposed to be blue (or the other way around??), but as said, the pin position is the same.
