he did stop making them cause he had some many projects with his website and stuff, so he decided not to make them anymore, he mad the first set for a guy here, and then i got me a set not to long after. but he was making mostly for the tib, cause not to many people wanted to pay for the one he was making for what he was charging. mine are still working to this day. so they where pretty good quality. i just wished i would of got them white instead of blue so i could drive around with them on like a bmw

Any idea what the specs of the led's you are currently using are?

My roomates and I ordered a bag of hyperwhite led's with various angles. Over the next few weeks, time permitting, I may open up my headlight housing and install these. It will be a nice addition to the HIDs I currently have.

i've been looking for an alternative to the EL wire angeleyes, so i googled led angel eye and got this result:

http://www.geocities.com/crx_auto/eagle_eyes.htm

he uses the turn rod from venetian blinds and led's to create some "eagle eyes", he only made cuts 3/4 the way around, but i'm sure with cuts all the way around plus the 2 led's it would work well. his pictures look good plus he has a video showing how he made them ~10 minute video and another showing them on and off in daylight, low light, and complete darkness.

the easiest way to do these and i saw him make them, is you first make a patter out of particle board the size of the circle you want and then nail it to a flat board, then you get some clear tubing like the venetian rod, you can find the tubing and some plastic places. the what you do is heat up the plastic and used the circle cut out pattern and shape it around the particle board while keeping heat on the plastic tube. once you get all the way around you cut it off with a dremel after it cools to the shape of the cut out. you then, cut ridges in the plastic on one side, try to get them space apart pretty even, then after that is done insert the LED on to the open ends that you cut and wire them in. Make shure you get 12v led or you will have to use a resistor.

I think Im going to attempt to do this, this winter break. The only thing Im worried about, is the shape od the XD headlights. XD2s have a more roundish shape then the XD1s. Because of this, it may keep the light from going fully around the circle.

I just need to find a spare headlight to test on.

i took apart one headlight and traced the shape needed for an xd2 on some paper, made it smaller, then traced and cut it out of a piece of wood. it took a while to find some hexagonal rods to use, all the ones at walmart, lowes, kmart, etc had the star * shape to them. the rods i used were a really good quality plastic and even when really hot did not want to hold the round shape and straightened themselves out. when you buy them, make sure that they bend relatively easy when they are cold. there is an acrylic shop where i live, so maybe i'll give them a call and see what they could do.

I ordered a det from flyryde the same place that did Blastasion's car.

Hopefully they should be here in not too long.

nice man! i just got mine installed about a week ago. i had to pull my bumper off to install them though because of how my car is designed. mine arent noticeable during the day, but at night there sweet. i also went with white cause i didnt want them to stick out to much, wanted the bmw look more then anything.

heres the thread i posted with pics if intrested.

To anyone making these, becareful not to stretch the acrylic rod when it is heated. This is only a problem when even heat distribution is not applied(ex: heat gun).

Are there any heat issues with the led's? Another thread talking about leds for your 194 slot said they dont do well with heat.. specifically the heat from your headlights.

id post the link but im lazy :-/
