Just had a few questions actually, do you think that kit would be good for a daily driver? The bumpers aren't gonna be that low to the ground, so I think I could pull it off.

Right now my car is mostly stock, except the sound system. I'm getting rims first, anything I should know about rims? Thinking about getting 18's. How about getting it lowered?

Pretty new to the modding scene, but I wanna turn my car into something completely different. Tips and suggestions appreciated.

18's are a tough fit and since you need to get such low series tires...the ride is horrible. I would stick with 16 or 17's. Even with some 17's you could rub your rear 1/4 panel. 18's look sweet...but not that much better than 16 or 17's.

Well from my experiance I would not go 18s and lower, I have 17's and I rub when I turn as it is, so if you want to lower your car ( If I were you I would, it helps dram with handling) go with 16's or 17's, if you want to see what 17's and lwrd looks like heres some pics of my car

Welcome to EXD.

Where are you getting the Tomato Kit from? EF? It's a great looking kit.

Im getting it from ImportShark. So I guess I'll stick to 17's and get it lowered. Im getting those first, body kit comes later. Actually, getting tints first, then sub, then rims, and various outside changes and body kit.

i had 18's with NO!! problems with rubbing. you will need camber bolts to give you negative camber front and rear. this is how you can go low with 18's and NO rubbing. ive even autocrossed with 18's and slammed. oh, and the lowest point on my car was 1.75" from the ground. yes, it was slammed. ask evan or 03xdgt, they have both seen my car lowered with 18's.

You can do that but if you have -camber you'll go through tires like crazy, I am having that problem right now, Ive been to lazy to put my camber bolts in lol.

I have 17X7.5's with a little bit of a deeper offset and I don't hit anywhere. 215/40/R17

I have 18" with 215/35/R18 tires, the offset on mine is +45 and I don't rub (front or back) I used H&R lowering springs (1.2' drop all around, not that much, but enought for 18") and the ride quality is AWESOME!

here is a pic of my car (the car is a little bit dirty though! :) )

the whole rubbing issue stems from not having the correct offset...and not having the right camber adjustments...

just because you have negative camber does not mean that "YOU WILL GO THROUGH TIRES LIKE CRAZY!!" smake who ever told you that! negative camber while driving hard helps keep the tire flat through the corner and helps maintain wear on the tire...now if all you do is highway driving then then yeah...they will prematurely wear...but for alot of us this is not the case and like to run our XDS through the twisties.

2loud...i think the neo gens are going to be my next set of tires when my 17's come back out next year.

BTW....what does the tomato kit look like??? i'm sure i have seen it but need a refresher.

18" wheels with tires would certainly help to prevent the lower bumpers from scraping on anything, even if you were to lower your car. I say go for it and

its probably only like two inches lower than stock...you should be good even with a huge drop...

i have atleast a 2.75 drop with my coils and the touring spoiler...very rarely do i scrap on anything...and it hangs pretty low.

Well I have 18" with 218/40/zr18 and never rubbed ever. the offset is 45 I think but if you have a GT than it does not even feel different than the stock rims and tires. It actually handles a whole lot better now.

only1db if ur talking to me i already hit EVERYTHING...my tow hooks catch on every little thing in the road and here in cali we have speed bumps on nearly every street so the thought of any kit really does scare me cause even a lip kit will hang lower than the tow hooks...which is upsetting cause i fell in love with that kit before i even got an elantra.
