I know I'm just being lazy instead of reading all the posts in the Nitrous/FI section, but what's currently the hold up from anyone in the U.S. having a turbo'd XD?

Mostly money. Out of everyone, I believe Elantra2.001 is the closest. Another reason there isn't any is that not all of us even realistically want a turbo.

Why do you ask? Are you thinking of doing it? If so, what's holding you up?

there are turbo'd elantra's and betaII's in the US... not many though, just most I've met don't even know about elantraXD or nt.com (for the tib 4cyls)

i just figured money wasn't the issue. My cousin turbo'd his POS Mazda Mx-6 from used parts bought off ebay and he probably spent a total of less than $2000. This is just an estimate. I'm almost sure he spent way less than that.

Now if I were to go turbo, it's going to cost me a bit more since I don't want to be using any used parts, but I didn't think the price tag would be rediculous enough for someone not to do it already. I always thought it was something mechanical that prevented someone from going turbo easily.

I did a search for his car on google and here's the forum where he posted a DIY Home Made Turbo for around $600. It's ghetto, but it's turbo'd. He wants to turbo my XD also now, of course this time with my money and better, brand new parts.
