Like an idiot with a bad case of New Car Fever, I failed to make sure my car had cruise control when I bought it. 2.5 years later, it's getting tiresome. I've seen some aftermarket cruise control products. Has anyone on here ever installed a cruise control on their Elantra? If so, I'd like to hear about it and maybe even see some pics. Was is difficult or easy?

i put in an o.e. unit, was super easy! the only problem is you need the throttle body, throttle cable bracket, cruise module and bracket, teh connector that plugs into to cruise modulem cruise control switch and to make it even simpler, the horn switch that the airbag mounts to, AND a wiring schematic of the wiring for the cruise control! i would seriously consider hunting the boneyards and striping another 'lantra of its cruise, cause its easier to install, and if something ever breaks, you could easily get the parts.

I have worked @ Big Apple Music in Watertown, NY for some time now and we've put cruise on cars of all sorts. We actually just put a cruise control onto a new Accent, nice car. It can be done. Just find a GOOD local car audio shop and they should be able to do it for you. It is a PITA, so that's why I say let them do it, cuz there is a bunch of testing, and if anything goes wrong, they should be the ones who fix it.

To be honest, I was an installer, not a salesman, so I couldn't tell you for sure, but I would think something around $200-$250 installed. Around 100-150 for the cruise and parts, and around 100 for the labor.
i had a friend add cruise to his 90s s10, he was pretty mechanically gifted and it still took him a TON of time.. -just for reference..
