watch your speed/mileage (or is is kilometage for canadians :D) and see what it averages out to for the speed you're going.

Sounds like a fun trip. What are you doing with your hood? Make sure you have enough room for it if you are bringing it back with you... with that said, I don't think there is enough room. Hmm.

Ok I just came back.

Picked up the hood.

Ended up costing me a lot more than it was supposed to, considering I got 2 cop tickets within 2 minutes. 1000$ and 5 demerit points later I have a CF hood in my basement. Yay for me.

Details:

OK so as usual I had my radar detector with me... Detects a signal... I slow down... I was one of the only 2 cars on the highway, with a cop hidden waiting for us to speed, on one of the most "speeded on" autoroutes in quebec, the 40. What happens? Nothing. I pass by, happy to have outsmarted the ****ing pig. 3-4 mins later as I am talking to the gf on the phone, I see a cop car get closer to mine from afar, but because I was absorbed by the convo, I wasn't making a mental connection with anything. As soon as he gets closer to me he starts slowing down and i'm thinking "OH CRAP HE MUST HAVE BEEN SUSPECTING SOMETHING" (since he probably got pissed that I was doing the speed limit when I was all alone on the highway). If you don't know, well, radar detectors are illegal in my province. Out of panic as the cop car came very close to us I yell to my cousin who happened to be with me "DUDE GET RID OF IT" and he takes it off and hides it under the seat, while the cop was looking right at him in his car which is now right next to mine. LOL Right. Like that's gonna change a thing.

Anywho... I get stopped... The detector gets confiscated. 650$ fine.

I'm pissed, tired after a sleepless night, and pissed, very pissed if I didn't mention it. I start rolling on the highway again and out of NOWHERE another cop, 2 minutes after my first ****ing ticket, tells me I was doing 148 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. Now. WHY THE **** WOULD I DO THAT RIGHT AFTER GETTING A 650$ FINE FOR SOMETHING RELATED TO THAT? He doesn't want to know a thing. 330$ and 5 demerit points.

Now.... I was stupid I guess for being illegal bla bla bla I will look at the law concerning the detector itself see if I can find a loophole if not ill pay, FINE.

But the speeding ticket was uncalled for, i was doing EXACTLY 105 not to get in trouble again and I have a witness. SEE YOU IN COURT YOU FAT PIG.

The original hood pick-up, some three years ago??, Drove to PA, Maryland, DC to co-pilot in a 10hour rally with TOR. Next day drove to KORE met with Dan, Talgat & Tor to pick up 2 hoods. Drove back home across the border with a receipt for 2 hoods valued at $20USD each :)
Held for pick-up for Jo the next week. She even drove the 1 hour across the GTA without a hood so we could install it in the parking lot.

This hood has one hell of a story to it so far.

Car is washed.

Hood got clayed, polished, and waxed twice.

I noticed there was a bit of oxydation near the grill area, but nothing to go crazy about. At least the rest will be protected.
