: Possible DIN fillers

Hey Guys, anyone know where to go to get something to fill in the "pocket"? I know that you can do something like a EQ, but for those of us who don't adjust the music too much that's overkill. Something like the pocket that is in there now, but with a latch or something to close it up and give it a nice look. A google seach on DIN brings up a lot of useless info.

Thanks

The 04 comes with a DIN sized pocket with a door over the front. I'm not sure about earlier model applications, but I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

Or get a Mulitgauge..... http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2050

Seriously, I like the bin that comes on the 04. I'll try to get a pic later.

Yes, the opening is a "DIN" -- Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. (German Institute for Standardization; similar to US ANSI) sized opening.

I also thought it'd be nice to have a cover or something on the dash pocket. I even thought about getting a double-din head unit to cover it, but then I'd loose the pocket.

That was my feelings on it, I like having the extra space to put things...perfect for a remote :D , well atleast until I can figure out what kind of LCD/DVD system I want to install

I put the remote in the top part of the center arm rest, along with my cell phone.

Doesn't fit in the 03...maybe I just have a fat remote...I did find these codes on Hyundai's website, I'll be going by the dealer in the next couple of days and see how much, how soon they can get them..

My Sony head unit has a remote as well, and I continue to try to find a better place to put it -- it's in a pocket on my sun visor right now. A cool thing to do to replace the the remote was a shifter knob with IR controls built in like this one

If you only use six or so functions on your remote regularly, that might be a way to eliminate the need to keep the remote handy. I didn't have the expendable $$ to try one, but I thought it'd be neat.

If you find a DIN-size tray that has a cover on it, please let me know where you got it; I'd like to get one too!

I don't know it it would fit but older Preludes (87-91) had a DIN pocket with a door on it that hinged from the top, The one on my 04 Xd hinges from the bottom.

I have an 04, and it doesn't have a cover over the pocket. I wonder if it's a GT thing. I would like to get something to cover that gaping hole up.

wasn't jay selling those units with doors at some point?

for those who can't get into EGT Club forum :
SPB: it's actually a one-piece double-DIN kit, with the box below and a mount for a standard DIN deck above. it is designed for the kenwood deck that comes with the US-spec '04 GT. if you have the stock GLS deck, the faceplate will not fit this kit. but if you've already upgraded to an aftermarket deck then this DIN kit will work.

Jay: $28 for the radio kit with the door.
