Well it's not really mine it's my wife's and I have a Tiburon. Would have loved to have gotten a manual on the Elantra but she was against it.

Nothing wrong with driving during daytime. I have never overheated sitting in rush hour traffic in the middle of July (the hottest) with my a/c full blast. The XD can handle the heat - at least mine can. You have a/c right? (a prerequisite in AZ - along with tint) Oh, and don't forget to have your radiator flushed on a regular basis to keep things running cool. Now that I think about it, the thing that this heat is the hardest on (besides your paint - keep it waxed) is your battery. Might wanna keep a set of jumper cables handy ;)

I never even saw M3 here. No Benz, No Lexus, No BMW...(I mean few) Such a nice place to live compare to Los Angeles. I hated to see the young kids driving those cars.

You're right, there definitely aren't many Beamers & Benzes in Goodyear or Avondale. You gotta go to the eastside to see those, like Scottsdale. I remember going to ASU and being jealous of all of the yuppies driving these hot rides paid for by their rich daddies. Oh well, maybe I will be in one someday. I absolutely hated washing my car in an apt parking lot. This new home has a water softener for the inside, along w/ ro. I'm going to put a hose spicket on the softener so that I can wash my car with soft water. The water in AZ is very hard otherwise, leaves lots of spots if you don't dry it right away. Can't wait. As for a car wash meeting, funny, I'll wash yours if you wax mine :D

I will supply the waxes. My wax is Maguire? step 1,2,3. It's not easy to wax 3 times after car wash. But, if you let me wash my car at your place once a month (may be more LOL), I will definitely wax your car! ;)

Look on ebay for wheels, tires & springs. Anything else, search the archives here first, then look on ebay or a respected dealer like kspec & compact divisions.

yeah, when you buy the rims, just make sure it fits to our car. rims around 600-1300, spring cost around 200. I don't know about body kits. I am Korean and I still got friends in Korea so when u wanna buy K-spec thing, I know the price range so compare the price with mine. Let's have car wash meeting~

Hey everyone. Just checking to see if any peeps from AZ and was surprised to find as many as I did. I'm out here in Mesa. I have a 2002 Carbon Blue Elantra GT. For more info about me or my car check out the newbie intro page. We previously owned a heavily modded '00 celica, but sold it for our elantra just before we had our 2nd child. If you have ever hung out @ the pavillions, you may have met me or my wife with our previous car club. This car has been a blast to mod and I'm surprised by the performance we get out of it. Can't wait for the major mods, having a hard time finding stuff for this car.

My Hyundai of Tempe experience has been mostly good. I did have and issue with them when I originally purchased the car. They kept giving me the run around on replacing a part and touching up my paint, so I called up the finance manager and told him I was gonna cancel my extended warranty so I could pay someone else to fix the problem. Problem got fixed real quick, they don't like the threat of losing their commissions. The ONE place I will never go for service/sales is Earnhardt's.

I live in Phoenix too. I don't spend much time there, but it is home.
On a side note, I am disapointed to hear about Hyundai of Tempe. I bought both of my GT's there and have had pretty good service. I'll be in next week getting my warped rotors warrantied for the second time in 17,000 miles.

Hey guys, the Phoenix thread here seems to have died down a bit so I thought I'd make my return post (Been very busy with work and stuff, now unemployeed. <SUCKS>) to this thread.

I'm also East Mesa, Recker & McKellips area. Been seeing a few slightly modified Elantras lately so who knows, might be some of you.

Use to see one Silver one a lot at the Alta Place Aprt. complex, had a set of custom rims and what looked like a mid/dark tint. Decent looking car.

So for you Valley people, if you see a Gold '01 that looks painfully dirty and stock, with Red Wing's License Plates on it, feel free to wave, thats me. ;)

none yet as i previously posted. but i will be getting some soon. by the end of the summer i will get front and rear strut bars and a k&n filter and the short antena from ark racing. will do power upgrades when the car is paid off. hafta pay for school this summer then get mods

any of u guys ever been to the tuner shops around the valley. if so do they carry and parts for xds. some are versus, haskell,vivid, to name a few

oh yeah as for mods go i am also gonna get some door sils off of ebay and maybe an ebrake cover

Well, I would've made it out last Sat., but our family spent Weds.-Sat. in 2 different hospitals because our 1 yr. old stop breathing and went into febrile seizures.

Then I came down with food poisoning late Saturday night, so that was fun. Oh, and our washing machine broke when we got home, yippee.

Needless to say it's been one eventful week. I just thank god we still have our baby boy with us, that was the scariest thing I've ever been through.

Eventually we will make it out there, I just can't promise anything anytime soon.

Thanks for your kind words & support everyone.

The doctors did say there is a slight chance from now on that he'll get recurring febrile seizures, but I can handle those now. We found out it was cause by a mild ear infection that caused his temperature to shoot off the chart in less than 20 mins (from no fever to at least 103). His little body was so hot I could barely handle him.

I don't know what I'd do if I lost one of my boys, makes me ill to think about it. Thank god also that my wife is CPR trained/certified, but she was still freaking out, as was I.

If you are going to go and just watch... cool... if you are going to go and race... get there early cause when the others show up you will be in the drag line for like an hour in between each of your runs.... SCO nights are usually reallllllllyyyyy packed..... but yeah.. I am off at 4 so maybe I will be going. But I doubt it... Friday night drags are the way to go..

Earnhardt told me that NGK's work best with our cars. That's what I went with, but I can't remember if that's what I took out of it. I can tell you that my wife's V6 Santa Fe came with platinum NGK's.

I work 40 hours a week. Am taking 18 credits at ASU.... One in which I work with pre-schoolers for 4 hours a day three times a week. So my week consists of getting up at 5:30am and getting home at 10:30pm... yupp back to school
