smoked a gt-v6 tib :)

I went to the track the other night with my 03 tib... it just has a hyundaispeed.com short ram intake on it...

I dusted this red gt-v6 6 speed tib that had a body kit on it...

it was outlaw night so we could not get timeslips...
we ran twice, i smoked him easily both times... I even came out slow on the 2nd run and i easily dusted him... :)


either way it was fun :)

i think fords is a 6 spd....he forgot to put it....its funny the smallest thing done to the v6 and it picks up quite a bit of power

the tib i raced was another 03 v6 6 speed gt.. exactly the same as mine except i dont have the ricey body kit... and i can drive it like i stole it.

from what ive heard the v6's aint all that great.....but anyone cant correct me if they think otherwise!

im actually really looking at getting a new tib....the special edition version
id probably go with the v6 just for the extra power since it weighs more than the xd

the v6 is a great sports car if you are looking to spend less than 20 ..

ie... i bought mine fresh from the lot in early 2003 (2003 model) for 17k.

i have the v6 gt 6 speed with cloth seats and no sun-roof and no abs... but it has all the other options... (which are standard).

so i think its a good deal.. considering the sticker price was like 22k ? lol

I laughed at the salesman when i saw the price tag... I must admit, it took 4 hours of haggling and going back and forth between two dealers to get that price, but it was worth it... my favorite thing to pull is to have your friend call you while you are in the sales booth and pretend its the salesman from the other dealer making you a better deal and you act like you are gonna walk out and go buy it from the other place...

even better, be sure to use the real names of the salesman, most of the time, they know (of) each other so you can really put the pressure on and get loads off of the sticker price.

well, i primarily drive the elantra, and my g/f primarily drives the tib.

the tib has more miles on it since we use it for road trips and such. :)

my xd has about 20k miles, and the bit has like 24k or something...

i usually get my g/f to race me in the tib... when we first started racing, i would consistenly beat her.. then i gave her some tips on how to shift and at that time i could only match her at best... then i got her a hyundaispeed.com sri and from that point on, i never beat her again.. :(

Nope, the LS, which really has 140 hp, 15.5 lbs rims, weighs 300 lbs less, aggresive gear ratios and a real short shifter, all stock. Plus, she can drive it... A stock XD has no chance against a stock 01 Interga (both 5 speeds), even the base model.

I have personally raced and defeated all ls integras that i've raced (all of 3)... all of them with headers/exhausts and CAI with 5spds & good drivers them...

so i must say silet... you cant drive ! !! LOL :)


ohh... i beat them all in my Elantra. and I would like to add that not one of them was even a close race at all.

I'm glad to say that unless that 1.8L motor has vtec ... it aint got shizzle... lol :D

Not sure what elantra you are rolling around in but an integra and elantra are almost the same curb wieght.

Thank you for the update!!! I was wrong about the difference being 300 lbs. I weighed them both at a Royal Waste Management site. The scale needed calibration, but the difference was around 250 lbs... so I guess they don't weigh the same.
