Ok i did a search and read the threads, if i missed something then sorry.
I saw alot of arguments about pros/cons of the hinges and what not, i want to do this to my trunk and dont know a place to find them other than ebay, and i dont want to get some craptastic hinges that are a waste of money. Any one know the design of these hinges, so i could see if i could build one myself, or a safe place to buy them?

I remember Rshack saying back on the old site, that he wouldn't leave the hinges on that way while driving cuz it seemed unsafe for some reason.
sorry no pics but read post #19

I did a quick google search and there is about a thousand DIYs for this.. they all used basically the same parts (2 latches and 2 hinges) from a hardware store, one of them in the pics (i didnt really read through them thoroughly) used cheap door locks so you can switch it easily, could DIY pretty cheap

if you do let me know how it is, if its like $10 and an easy install could be something for me to waste some time on haha

slapshot, thanks i have seen other DIYs on this but for somereason i couldnt get it! These actually helped me alot! I think that im going to do it. I was under the assumption that when you opened the trunk it stayed in that position the whole time it was opening.
I think i will incorperate something to keep it level in place of the wood

I think i can make it look a lil less ghetto than this though!!
