Well I realized when doing my tenth oil change that my car doesn't have this cover that is below the oil filter...I feel like an idiot not noticing before

(stolen picture ;) )

So i talked to the dealer and asked if there's one that goes on the transmission side too...and he said yes.

Passenger side part number
29110-2D000
Driver's side part number
29110-2D100

Just so if anyone else is missing their's too. ;)

the screws broke on mine when I was trying to take it off for an oil change around 40,000 miles.

Mine shattered, and I'm going to replace it. it diverts debris and air flow for better MPG. And the v6 tiburons have a full under-plate available from korea....if they make one for the I4, I'd pick one up for the gas milage improvement alone...

^ dont worry...it will be coming out....alum pan for the whole bottom of the bay...because i dont have anything either...i'm going to make mine. mine will incorporate a splitter to go under the front end spoiler though...

they are kinda necessary...they keep all the water and s tuff off things...or atleast most of the water off things...

Well I dont have one on mine and the "wonderful" people at the 10 min oil change place seem to have bolted the oil pan bolt on waaaay! too tight. I fought with it for about 30 minutes before calling it quits. I all but stripped the damn bolt. Anybody have any tips on getting that sucker out now that the dingle berries downtown have it bolted in tighter than my lugnuts?
God this just pisses me off anyhoo sorry to hijack :D

Dont have the piece your talking about

I officially broke off the last screw that i had holding it in place... For those who have removed it without breaking anything, are the nuts on the inside part attached to the frame? or are mine just rusted on so tight that it seems that way?

The "nuts" that the bolt screw in to are part of the subframe.

Part number??? maybe it can be addapted to ours.

how do you plan on that...seriously. I would like to know. I'm not sure what would go into making it. do you mean a FULL cover under the motor and what not. or are you talking about just where those "pans" we are discussing belong. and how do you plan to incorperate it into your splitter. I ask because I was an insulator with B to A level sheetmetal skills (not full blown sheet metal, only to certain gauges and for insulation purposes) and I have access to sheetmetal on a daily basis. aluminum or galv. or stainless. Could you describe it or draw it out. maybe I could help you. we have breaks and slittler and even pittsburgh seemers available in the shop.Maybe I could help you fab it up. of course, you may have similar access, thats why I am asking to begin with. and do you think it will "come out" for our cars. should I wait.

Just how much gas mileage do you think this will give you? Yikes! As far as gas mileage goes, these covers are in the noise. You simply won't notice.

the only thing i really see those doing is making it look better and maybe quieter. i find it hard to believe that by "Diverting dirt and debris" it'll help increase gas mileage. hell those of you with CAI, ur filter doesn't go anywhere near there so doesn't that make it entirely useless now?

anyway, i never had mine on my car that i can remember. if i did i threw it away. weight savings baby!
