I am thinking of getting this for my car. Would this work on my 2006 Elantra GLS? It says that it is a plug n play antenna.

Well the last thing I bought from ebay that said it fit an 06 didn't fit. I just want to make sure before I buy it.

It says it comes with a vehicle specific adapter, so I guess you just have to decide how much you trust the seller. What was the last item you bought?

Should fit. But I just cut my factory antenna, and it worked perfectly. As it turns out, I accidentally cut it exactly in half, and everything works fine.

I bought that same antenna on Ebay from the same seller and it comes with 3 or 4 adapters. It fits fine on my 2002 and it says that it fits up through 2006 so I think it should be fine.

I purchased from the same person. It does work fine and my car is an 06.
I had some terrible drama with the person though. He first sent me a broken one. (along with 30 others) then he sent me an email saying that he won't be able to ship out new ones for a month later.
That month turned out into almost 3 because i ordered in july and didn't get my item till october.

Yup, I have the same antenna on my car, fits perfectly. The AM signal is not as good as stock though.

I have'nt checked already if it fit, but if it does, i will put the shorty antenna that the new Accent got. They're about 6" long. So as soon as i get a chance to try it on, i'll let you know if it work.

I just installed the Antenna-X "Euro" 13-inch rubber antenna about 10 minutes ago.

Even though I'd cut it down to about 18-inches, the stock metal antenna just looked chintzy.

The thicker, tapered, rubberized Antenna-X model makes the car look a touch more modern and expensive, especially sitting next to BMW's, Porches and Range Rovers. For a $15 mod, this one really improves the look of the 2002 GT.

The antenna appears flexible enough that a run through a car wash wouldn't harm it.

BTW: I got mine from Antenna-X on eBay and it shipped with about half-a-dozen threaded adapters for different types of car (North American, Euro, Asian, metric etc). The antenna itself has a threaded hole which the adapters screw in to. Pick the adapter with the appropriate thread on the "car" side.

In about 10 years, I've never listened to AM radio so I'm not concerned about AM reception.

So is the FM reception diminished at all? I was looking into this antenna as well, and seeing as I use an iTrip FM transmitter if I lost any reception it would be bad.

Does anyone have any information on the FM reception? Thanks.

Actually, if you lost some reception it would be better for your transmitter seeing as it works off FM stations that don't come in anyway.

Yep. Your radio picks up the closest signal at that frequency. So if it can't pick up the radio station, it will pick up the transmitter better.

Thank you for the replies. I believe I will end up purchasing this antenna. I only notice a fade in my signal coming from my iTrip occasionally. I miss the iTrip for the previous generation iPods that could change the intensity of the signal with the volume.

ehm I have the same antenna, fm works great...am hmmm not as good. which is one obstacle for me since I like to hear news radio stations on the am dial. But besides a little distortion here and there it works on am.

don't forget about the s2000 antenna (needs an adapter) and the ark antenna (no adapter needed and looks like s2000 antenna). i've got the s2000 antenna and love the looks of it and only lose a little FM reception.

Here you go bud:
www.arkspeedracing.com Billet Antenna (http://www.arkspeedracing.com/01_05_HY_Elantra_Replacement_Billet_Short_Antenna_ p/sa0701-0105d.htm)

There's two colors black and silver. Personally I'd go with black.

Just a hint, but you might want to wait a week before you buy one.

I rarely use the radio...never listen to AM, but FM seems the same.
