Hey Scrooge it looks awesome...just one question...was there any special way you had your side moldings painted? I have been looking into this for a while and I am worried about not getting a color match. Any advice you can give?

Your car has always looked good. Keep up the good work. I especially like the kit (kinda bias I suppose).

jbird88, I got the side moldings done at the same time I got my review mirrors done. The only thing I can say is pick a good spray painter - Mine was done by my local dealer

mmmm, I'm really digging those painted side mirrors and body mouldings.
I'll call around to a few places for quotes, what would be a good deal?

Also just a Q on the clear side indicators, did you do these yourself? Where were you able to source the parts from? Do you reckon it's possible to use clear side indicators from a different car? Is the globe attached to the plastic cover?

Sorry for all the Q's!!!

:)

Seinster, when I got the mirrors and side moldings painted I also got the hatchback decal painted. All up it cost me $335 but that was back in 2002.
I hope that helps ;)

As for the claer side indicators would you believe they are off a Hyundai Getz  They are the same as the ones off an elantra, They come with everything, you just have to fit them. They cost me $72.50 but they was in August last year

Cheers

It's neat to see that body kit installed. I like it.

So, based on your under-hood and trim paintjob I take it you're a big fan of the color silver?

Just an update - I have a show on the 21st January so I have just started to clean the car. First is the wheels and wheel arches. Then it will be the undercarriage, then engine bay, the interior, than last but least the paint work. I have just got my new floor mats backed from getting chromed. I also have got a few more things in the engine bay chromed. Also there is a photo of my last show, which show the set-up that I use.

Also on the picture of you passenger side door, I see on the window switch it looks like you can control your drivers side window and passenger, am I correct?

you have made a few changes since I last saw your car as COTM on the old XD page. Nice work. Can you post a pic of looking straight down into the engine bay so I can see the tranny. Heres the question, how hard would it be to convert from LHD to RHD?

Seinster
01-26-2006, 10:53 PM
Love the setup mate, it's brilliant! I've got quite a few real money bags with the bank names on them if you plan on doing it again. Just PM me if you want them.

Oh yeah, and a pre-congrats on winning COTM. You definately deserve it. :D

Hey slow 2K2GT, why would you want to convert from LHD to RHD  Any way I'll try to take a picture of it for you.

Seinster the judges liked the display too, I won Best Individual Display.

Engine bay would look hotter if you polished the IM or got an air-ram manifold to go along with the bling theme

RHD is sexy man! Everyone can have a modified LHD XD, but who in Canada or the US has a modified RHD XD? Its all about being different :D ...and having the cash cash to do it :( .

Hey,
Just a quick update on my Elantra. I have recently sold my car

I got to a stage where I couldn't have done to much more to it so I sold it.
I had alot of fun doing it up and taking it to shows. I bought it new in Jan 2001 and sold it with only 22,000km's on it.
Some of the things I achieved with it are - It was entered in eight car shows and won eleven trophys, it was car of the month twice on this web site (SO THANKYOU EVERYONE WHO VOTED FOR ME  )

Cheers

Yeah thanks it was a nice car and about the only thing I didn't do to it was turbo it. My new set of wheels is a 06 WRX - so that fixes the turbo problem. As for doing it up the financial adviser (THE WIFE) said no way.
At the moment I'm trying to get rid of all my Elantra parts.
