Does the header for an 01' elantra fit the XD's beta engine?? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I see those headers on ebay but not one for an XD. Just want to get rid of that damn cat!!

well according to the pics i would say it will fit, but thats if it comes and is exactly like the pictures, but umm wow all i can say is that it looks hellsa cheap

also it does require you to relocate both of your o2 sensors, and you will need to modify your cat in order to install a header

If you're looking for a cheap header and just a few hp/tq gains, go for it. Otherwise, save your money and buy a better one from hotshot or evofusion. It will fit in your car, but you may need to have the midpipe modified, and also a cat welded in to stay emissions legal...

Dirt cheap price, but like they say, you get what you pay for. If I am correct, Beta and Beta II exhaust manifolds are interchangeable.

^^

they are, but the older (97-98) motors had the o2 sensors located differently. just email the seller, and ask if the primary o2 sensor bung is on the manifold itself, or on the downpipe. you can make each other work, but it involves some cutting and welding.

I can weld a bung for an o2 myself, I just need something to get rid of that damn cat!! I'm spraying 100 shot and having the stock manifold is killing me!! Im going for it, I'll keep you guys posted on how cheap it really is.

just gut the cat if thats the case. (but obviousely if you have emissions nazi's, you better have a spare)

also the headers for the older beta's that dont have the primary o2 sensor on the header and not the down pipe wont bolt up to the rest of your exhaust. since that version had the cat under the motor instead of in front, the pipe wont match up. since i didnt use the cat, i had to make an extension pipe to match up to my exhaust.

but thats a pretty normal layout. the primary o2 sensor hole on the older mani's is at the same spot our secondary o2 is at, so thats works fine. just need to pick a spot on the new mani, drill, and weld a bung.

it took me probably 2 hour's to remove the factory one, do all the modifying of the manifold, bolt it up, and build the extension piece. it sounds tuime consuming, but if you have the knowledge, and tools to do it, its very easy.

also heres a heads up, when trying to install a header, most people swear they have to remove the power steering pump.... you dont, just loosen the bolts enough so theres a bit of play, and the manifold goes right on. that way you dont need to waste time un-installing, and re-installing the belts and such.

That looks too cheap. Mild steel, chromed. Definately look for a stainless steel one. And, without a doubt the Hotshot header is a quality piece but no one has shown it to give more whp than the "cheapo" ssautchrome/obx header

personaly I think its all a bunch of crap. The main reason why people believe one thing over another is just word of mouth and their "feel" persay or they thing the company is stupid.....if some one can prove me wrong with some definitive proof then i'll apologize and say "your right I am wrong always oh great one" or something to that effect.
