I called 1 of the local Hyundai dealers for the parts dept. to order tib pedals and they told me that they didn't know what I was talking about for an Elantra. I told then I want pedals from a tib to put on my XD and they kept saying they don't make them for the Elantra. I had to explain to them that the pedals can be used on both and then they gave me the price. $92+TAX  I was like WTF?! what kind of crooked dealers do I have in my area. I know they don't cost that much, and the parts dept. doesn't know squat about custom work.

Order online. Go to hyundaiusa.com, then go into the parts and accessories section. That way you can pick out the parts you need and the monkeys at the dealer just need to read a number. You pick them up at the dealer, just like you bought it there (cause you did) but you don't have to rely on having a dealer that knows what they're doing.

As far as the pedals, check dreamka4u and kspec, I think you'll get them there cheaper.

Do NOT tell anyone that the ordered parts are not for the intended car. If they are tibs parts (sway bar included too) let them assume you will be putting them on a tib. That makes things a whole helluva lot easier, because you're right, a mojority of them don't know jack sh*t about customizing.

dealers suck on parts and knowing their cars...(sorry Jay, you are the exception) . Examples....My dealer wanted $106 each for foglamps. WTF???

Then I got the Tib sway bar from Jay and took it to my dealer to install. They said it wont fit the Elantra. I said yes it would. They said no it won't, the cars dimentions are different. I said LOOK, IT WILL FIT, TRUST ME!! I KNOW WTF I am talking about...A Hyundai parts manager in CT put it on his XD, and it fits fine, just put it on!! JEEZ. AFterwards, they said, wow, we didnt think it would fit, yours is the first one we have ever done.....

There are some really shaddy dealers around here. I called about 10 different parts depts looking for a price on the Tib Ultrasport struts and got prices ranging from $400 for the set to $860. And it was a nightmare trying to explain why I didn't have a vin for the Tib I don't own and that they would fit in a XD.

I'm with Mike on this one, I use the online parts thing most of the time. My dealer doesn't even charge for delivery (on small things like the H logo or a t-shirt).

They are parts counter people, they don't have to know about customizing.
When you asked for pedals, they probably gave you the price of the full pedal and think you are a dumb *** for wanting those.

This is why you go in the dealership to ask for stuff instead of calling. They will show you an exploded diagram and you point at what you want.

BTW, you need to specify Tib GT when ordering.
