Alright...
I got a blinking CEL for a couple seconds yesterday.
- I noticed the A/F gauge was in the lean
- I was at WOT boosting around 9-10 lbs
- Engine operating temps where reached
- The blinking CEL came on then went as fast! Blinked like 5-6 times.
Thoughts?
I thought it would be the cold temps... like -20 deg C
Blinking CEL=Misfire on 2 or more cylinders. You might wanna check it out asap

Yeah...
But why was it intermittent?
Like... Never came back.
Think it's my plugs on the edge of giving up?

It could be that the cold dense air + boost pressure was too much for the ignition system to ignite. perhaps its time for new plugs wires and aftermarket coils. could have been condensation in the gas. that would have read lean??? could have been knocking due to the lean condition + cold temps?
My vote is condensation in your gas tank.

condensation in my tank?
how the hell do you fix that.
lol
also I was thinking my fuel filter... im at 120k km (around 75k miles) and ive never changed it. thats what my buddy said it could be, i didnt think about it really until he said it.

I know what you mean Felix. I got that like the week before we pulled the head. It was blinking, but by the time I noticed it it stopped and hasn't come back. Turned out, obviously, to be a cylinder three misfire. I bought new plugs and wires, to be on the safe side.

hmmm
so it could be the cold weather thing.
also i was running 91 octane only as in the winter i dont push the **** that hard. could have something to do with that.

I don't think you have the higher psi tune on your Unichip unless you specifically asked for it way back when. Keep monitoring the AFR!!

i know i dont but i have had it up to like 11-12 psi spikes no problem before...

hmm, I've had a few spikes to 16-17 psi before (when I was messing with the boost controller) and nothing really went wrong either..........but the car didnt feel any faster LOL, not sure if it was from lack of reflash or just that this particular turbo is not that efficient past 15psi  .

you've hit a lean spot..
ultra cold and dense air means two things
intercooler is very efficient at those cold temperature means more lbs of air per psi (denser)
air it self is denser at those temperature,so there you go denser air again
you've got the perfect receipy to make more power, but i would wonder if yuo were getting enough fuel
try checking the hose that is hooked up to the unichip boost sensor,if it was cloggued up with "ice" it might affect your fueling also

yeah im thinking that perhaps condensation froze somewhere to **** things up...
im just going to wait until i get my summer back hehehe and not boost past 5-6 lbs

I was told that the fuel filter and pump are all one unit on our cars, and both would have to be replaced, you can't just replace the filter..is this true?
No,you can replace them separately.
