Just when you thought people can't get any stupider , they prove you wrong

I'm a volunteer firefighter in my small town, part of our district is 25kl of very nasty highway that runs through a snow belt. As usually happens with a little snow we get called to accidents on this highway alot, we expect it and deal with it as best we can. But the other morning was a new high or low depending on how you look at it.

We arrive to a 2 veh almost head on between a small car and a 10 ton truck, park the first in truck across the road on one side of the accident and the 2nd truck across at the other end, this makes a "safe zone " to work in .

Due to the injuries of the driver of the veh Lifeflight is sent to the accident scene , no small feat in itself in a snow squall. So we take another large red truck and park it across the road shutting down a landing zone for the helicopter to use.

So as you can imagine this causes a bit of a traffic issue with drivers being re-routed to a secondary road ( for about a kl/half mile ) . Well one of these drivers saw an opption that we did not, he came down the off ramp (they wrong way) onto the highway directly into the landing zone for Lifeflight as the helicopter was landing. OMG the fire truks parked across the road wasn't a hint that he souldn't be there , bad as this seems 2 other drivers followed him past the screaming landing zone officer .

An the driver was upset because of the way he was spoken to when he finally stopped, his reason was that he didn't know the road that he was diverted to , and was in a hurry .

There are times when emergency crews do things that may affect traffic and ruin your day, but think of the folks that they are there trying to help they are having a really bad day.

So folks if you see an accident scene act accordingly pull over let the crews get to the people who need them, SLOW DOWN if you are going past a scene and watch where you are driving.

That were some dumb-*** drivers! I can't believe someone would be so stupid... I hope everything turned out fine in the end (as good as it can be, considering). Here, the kind of emergency teams we have, that's almost impossible. If there's such an accident, police is called and they barricade any on/off ramp or driveway with their cars (in reality because they're too lazy to stand outside, not because they're more efficient this way).

man, f screaming at that driver. he should be in an ambulence right next to the others. going the wrong way on a ramp (lane violation, driving to endanger, as well as wreckless driving) Was he arrested? This stuff really makes me upset.
