That thing might your cats if you're not careful. Poor cats.

Haha. Umm, why a snake?

We had one in my 7th grade science class and we used to get to watch it eat, it was cool. Of course, I was 13 then.

I have two things to say evan.

1) Congrats on the new pet!

2, and on a more personal level, but just in my opinion...) I FREAKING HATE SNAKES!! *shudder*

I love snakes ... they are generally very affectionate pets. Reptiles are cool! I had a salamander waiting on my doorstep when I got home tonight. I gave him a couple strokes on the back and he just hung out for a while and then headed for the wet grass. If I had a terrarium, I probably would have kept him.

Have fun with the new family member. Did you name him yet?

BTW ... I hate spiders. Snakes are awesome!

snake will only be 5-5.5 feet, never big enough to eat the cats (although sometimes i wish he would eat the white one). its a ball python....large rats will be the most it will be able to eat...when it gets older, im feeding it a parakeet

a baby ball python, a good starter snake. I had a reticulated python until it ate my neighbours cat...then I had to get rid of it.

I don't know, I'm sure it'd try to eat the cat if it got the chance.

I hope it eats your girlfriend.

Ahahahahahahaha. She's a little bigger than the cats.

well, i was gonna get some pics/video from the feeding today, but just my luck the camera battery died right before he got ready to strike

i will try again next weekend

I don't know, I'm sure it'd try to eat the cat if it got the chance

it really wont...they wont attack anything they know they can not eat...the biggest animal this will ever eat is a large rat...my cats are WAY bigger than that (unless we're talking NY rats :))

I am a reptile person all the way. Allergies are a pain but that thing is awesome. Congrats on the purchase. Make sure to give it plenty of tank space to grow to its full potential.

A retic! wow dude, yeah after a wile you have to worry about them eating your kids if you dont handle them right!, lol, yeah theres alot of those loose in florida, really screwing up things, gotta love the pet trade.

so evan do you feed it live? make sure you dont always feed it in the tank because it might eventually start attacking your hand

I loved all my pythons that I had. My ball python slept with me, but he was inside my pillow case, I would let it wrap around my neck while I drove around...raise em right and let them socialize properly and their behavior can be perfect. The retic that I had stopped growing at 5'2" (62lbs), I had a Savannah monitor as well that was 90lbs, I hate fur bearing animals, they make a mess.
