That would work for me on some level. The dealer I go to for much of my service is a Dodge/Hyundai dealer.

On the other hand, if they restyled all Hyundais on the Caliber styling cues, I think I would puke.

EVERYONE is denying talking to Chrysler. . . what's that tell you!

^^^Except for GM, who may be making a large-sized (Tahoe/Suburban) SUV for Chrysler to put their emblem on.

Even GM officially denies talks to buy chrysler. No one WANTS it, but everyone is willing to sell to them!

I think the strategy, if hyundai is talking to them, is to denie it because they are not an american company. Does anyone remember the fuss that diamler caused when everyone found out that the germans were gonna buy a "US company". The UAW freaked. Just think what would happen if a bunch of "CENSORED" (so much for free speech.)but one of "our" companies. (and I say this mockingly and sarcastically towards those that are going to say it, because i can just hear those kinda words flying if people discover it. I have no patience for that mentality but it exists none the less.)They are playing a poker face to avoid trouble in the press.

Who cares who buys it. as long as they provide US workers with a decent job.

1. I didnt know people still used that word.
2. If you hated it so much then you wouldnt have typed it. Even though you use it mockingly people might still get offended.

well, if they get offended, it's there fault. Obviously i am condeming people for using it. If your so PC that you wont even say that word in a context that is not offensive, then shame on you. Do you live in a comune or something. Have you ever been to a manufacturing facility and worked around laborers. or is that beneath you. People still use that word every day. People are still uneducated mororns. I bet your parents are well off, huh? You probably lived in a white bread neighborhood with a bunch of white friends. Have you ever put on a hard hat an a tool belt. I have. I've work in 10 below with bare hands holding a sheet metal screw agains cold stainless steal. I've worked in fireproof coveralls and a rspirator on a day that was 110 degrees. I've stripped powerhouse boilers while they were still fired up. It was so hot that we had to use 8' scaffold poles to scrape off the insulation and the rubber straps on our dust masks were still melting.
I work around people that have lived deep in the mountain of west virginia! Unfortunately, yes people do use that word! Aparently you are to sheltered to be exposed to it.
aparently you think you know it all if you think that way.
When you have the experience in life that most men do, come and argue with me then.

Now that's what I call a rant.

I would be surprised if Hyundai is thinking of taking over Chrysler though, like the guy in the article said 'they have their hands full'. They need to make some major profits this year and concentrate on current/future models.

What was the word?

It was the common slang/racist term for Vietnamese people. G-bomb?

Everyone on this board that has read the racism thread or the "gay bashing" thread knows I'm adimantly anti-prejudice and I have a very open mind considering how conservative my views are. I've told the story a few times about the white football player that knocked me down the hallway in tenth grade because I made a shirt in graphic arts that said "racism sucks". If anyone misunderstood what I had wrote, then they didn't read it. It would mean tha they looked at that word and didn't read anything else. It's as obvious as can be what I was saying in that statement. I was making fun of prejudice people. DUH! LOL!

Ahhh. Using racial slurs might fly when one is amongst their personal friends but not on a public forum.

Alright, let's work on keeping this on topic of the non-sale of Chrysler to Hyundai.

Like I said. . . no one wants it. Too much liability with the union contracts and retirement funds.

What I don't get. . .the UAW would rather shut the plant down and EVERYONE lose their job than make concessions and people keep thier jobs just not make the $36/hr to sit on your butt and MAYBE do 3 hours of work.

Yep. UAW is killing U.S. Auto Makers. From a couple things I've seen, the healthcare costs alone (they are still paying healthcare on their no-longer-employed workers too) is enough to put Chrysler under.

I'm glad. I know Hyundai wants to break into the Top 5 automakers in the world, but if they keep up the good work with both Hyundai and Kia they should be good. Down the line if the acquire someone who knows...

I dont know your meaning by this, but thats what I meant...Those kinds of people say it every day around their buddies, but when I type it to make fun of those people, he tries to say that he was still offended. Thats just whinning in my opinion.

you didn't mention the jobs bank. the UAW secured a place for over ten thousand workers to sit and get full wages and benifits while sitting in the lunch room. That way if someone retires or gets fired, they have the option of taking that persons place. but it's optional. They don't have to if they don't like the position. And this is all because robots were stealing "our" jobs. God forbid we progress with technology. I mean, why create hundreds of thousands of high paying, educated jobs in computers, robotics, programing, machinists(making the robot parts), engineers...etc if it means we are going to loose an overpaid, under educated labor job in the manufacturing industry. We wouldnt want america to be the forefront in technology...come on! That would mean joe bob would have to go to college instead of living on thirty hours a week at 30 dollars an hour while he goes home and smokes pot the other ten hours of the work week...nahhh! we wouldn't want that because that would mean that the union rep wouldn't have a nice cushy job...no unions means no offices with business men claiming to care about the "worker" while their pockets are greased. Same as global warming. Why say the facts were wrong all these years if that would cost you your reseach funding and your paycheck. No wonder hyundai wouldn't want chrysler...that would be like asking your buddies x-wife out after watching her treat your buddy like crap and cheat on him for 20 years...your asking for trouble.
( i threw that in there to keep it on topic...LOL)
