Ok, question...and I want serious opinions. and I don't care if you think I should do what I want and not care about others...I want to know and it's my f-ing buisiness if I do...mind your own business instead of careing about mine
***breaths***
(Just a joke to all those guys that gave me crap about my choice in cars...LOL)
Ok now that thats over. I want a serious opinion on what body kit I should buy. I have an 06 hatch. I want opinions out of ALL of the QUALITY kits out there-xd1 or xd2, hatch or sedan. I am willing to do the required work to adapt what I decide on to fit if I have to. I also don't care if it is not available. i want opinions because I want to see what others like. If I want to do a show car some day from this ride, UgLY cars don't win. and cars that no one likes are generaly refered to as ugly. so take your pic out of any QUALITY kit that has been available at any time. even opinions on old kits would point toward styles that work or don't work. I'm not gonna do a poll because there are to many. I am leaning toward the tomato kit, the style of the concepto kit for the xd1, the alper or cuper kit, whatever it's called and the ixion kit.
If you have the $$ to convert an XD1 kit to fit XD2 (or convert the XD2 to fit the XD1 kit), why not design your own kit and get someone to fab it for you?
Well, i have talked it over with some people and really, there isn't much to it, depending on the kit. And I planned on me and a buddy doing the FRP work. Depending on the kit, the hood will work for an xd1 kit, as long as you fasten a grill to the bumper, or buy a kit, like the concepto d1, that has a grill. Other than that, its either buy a set of 200 dollar headlights, or cut the notches out and finish off the edges properly. I've been told by some it is not to hard compared to some sonversions. Look at the chick that made the VSide trubulance kit fit an RD1.

I personally know a guy who made the Veilside RD2 kit fit on an RD1, it looks ****ing sick, and he is a BIG show winner, keeps on taking trophees wherever the hell he goes because no one else has the setup!

I thought that was a girl????The red one right???That was the one I was talking about
well...point being. It can be done with minimal work. It's not like it is a whole different car. Do you like the concepto d1 kewl? what about the tomato? I have a few questions i am gonna ask you later after work BTW.
I LOVED that roadruns kit someone posted about yesterday man you should try getting that one.
that is just a front lip, otherwise i might. unless it's something new in the last day. If you start buying lips and skirts and parts OH MY!...uh I mean and parts from all kinds of kits, it costs a tone of money. and it takes a lot of time if it's over seas. I don't want to waste money that can be better spent on wastes of time like shipping and broken up kits. unless I really decide i want that lip. i think that lip and the tomato skirts and the MS carart rear lip would look PHAT, DOG!!!
WATCH FOR EDITS INSTEAD OF POST AFTER POST, I'M GONNA TRY AND SAVE SPACE. I HAVE A FEELING THIS MIGHT BECOME A LONG ONE IF I GET SOME REAL OPINIONS GOING. I WANT TO BUY IN A WEEK OR SO.

what about someone named summer. It was dark red/burgundy. same set up. of course that was five years ago. he/she used to win a ton of awards as well. I think it got some magazine coverage. That was the rd I was refering to.
for those of you that are lazy...

here is the rear, i think it would look good with the tomato front and sides
http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/Hyundai/04elantra-cuperkitrear.jpg
and finaly, the road runs front, the tomato sides, and the ms car art rear...

tomato sides above with these.
thats what I'm trying to decide from. my wife loves the tomato kit and it is the most expensive.
what do you guys think. what would have the cleanest, most aggresive, yet most elegant look to it. I want this car to look HOT!
what about the good ol R34 kit??
overdone and common. plus it is a little to "Buddy club" for the look I'm kinda going for.

might as well by the r32...not the rifined look I'm going after. and the fit doesn't look the best. look at the hood and the grill. see the gap?
joph09
02-27-2007, 05:22 PM
ah yes i see the gap, but it could be easily fixed you said yourself it wouldn't be hard. In any case your idea of the tomato kit w/ the cuper rear would be golden

If you are thinking about looking at xd1 kits, i have a suggestion. The Feb 2004 COTM winner had a nice kit. He posted back here right before the site crashed (with a link to his COTM page), but I can't find the thread anywhere! Maybe a veteran member can help out. The kit might have been Astrel, but I do not remember.

never liked body kits, I am proof that you can have a tasteful head turning XD without one. I would say look elsewhere.

what about from PSC the CMS XD2 Elantra Bodykit isn't so bad, i'm not sure if it's the rifined look you're looking for, it can be minus the wing

^That looks like the kit I was thinking about earlier. Except its an xd2.

I think vis actually makes that kit. It's ok in the front. I hate the rear. I'm thinking I may stick to the roadruns lips and skrits from something else. That or the tomato kit. But I have a great price offer on one of the other kits though. I just don't like the skirts that come with it.
A lot of people seem to be pionting toward that kind of look in the front...HUH? I thought that style was over for sedans.
