So I'm sitting here at work and just got Pissed because before my roomies and I seperated somebody stole all my Fast and The Furious movies. I'm pissed because I gotta buy them again.

The acting in the movies sucks but I just like looking at the cars and hearing all the sound effects and stuff. The races lace realism but I still ike them.

Then I started to think about the other movies out there that are geared more towards the car enthusiast. But I'm not a movie buff so I wanted to know if anybody else knows of any car movies that you could watch over and over without it getting old!

Thanks P.J.!

If you want a REAL car chase, check out Ronin.

^^ The ORIGINAL Gone in 60 seconds. That and Bullett. Oh. . . that one with the white Charger. Vanishing Point.

Yeah. . . those had real car chases. F&F . . . .I wouldn't even put them in the same building as most of these movies.

Vanishing point that was a challenger....Speed Zone was a corny movie with awesome cars in it. It had John Candy and the dad from American Pie in it. I am interested in seeing that new movie redline when it comes out April 17th.

Let's not forget Cannonball Run I and II. Fairly Decent.

There was a movie called Death Race 2000 which was a total snooze-fest. Seriously.

Smokey and the Bandit was also pretty good if you can stand watching the constant bickering between Burt Reynolds and that other lady. It doesn't have nearly the car variety that some of these other movies have.

Dude, come on...as if Initial D is Chinese! I'm not even aware of any Chinese anime! And shame for saying it's better in English! :headshake

Mad Max is a pretty good flick, I wouldn't call it a car film, more of a dystopian sci.fi. but you gotta respect the cars in it. There's another decent Aussie film called Running on Empty. It's pretty lame story/acting but the cars are cool.
The drift bible is a good how-to movie into the world of drifting with Keiichi Tsuchiya.

My other favourite true classics are: Grand Prix and American Graffiti.

WHEN (not if) wifey and I come to Aussie land, I have already told her that one full day will be dedicated to playing at the dealerships. Camera and fresh batteries! I think you guys have the coolest stuff!

Exactly. Kids have no idea what a car chase is.

Ronin definitely. The Italian Job is faker. I hear The French Connection had a good chase. Um... one of the Matrix moves (Reloaded?) had one. I liked the brief one in The Peacemaker (MB vs. BMW).

I had forgotten The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy
Oh, and The Transporter. I don't remember if The Transporter 2 had a good one.. he ended um jumping through a wall from one rooftop to another and driving off in some magical car... it was OK until that...

SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT (trilogy)

I recently bought it, has been a cult movie for me ever since I was a young lad and I used to watch it with my dad

The original Smokey was decent, the next two were flat out horrible. Kinda like F&F only the first one of those sucked too.

i am well aware that it was based in japan...sheesh...but on the movie listings for languages...it was set on that language...and yes in english it was better...there were holes in the plot if it wasnt..

car movies are movies about the CARS! all else is second....so has horrible as the first two were the F and F make the list...so does gone is 60 seconds...hell even cannonball run makes the list...

the others mentioned just have cool chases...and what not...i would not consider them CAR movies

I don't know if these count, but, I've always like Days of Thunder. I probably watched it about 20 times when I was younger and it just came out on HBO.

Also, this weekend I watched Cars... excellent movie.
