So, I was finally able to get my hands on a Wii last weekend. I ordered my 2nd controller/nunchuck and received that Wednesday. I am, so far, disappointed in the lack of multi-player games. Call of Duty is single player, nothing online. The new TMNT game would have been perfect for 4-player, but it's also a single player game. A lot of decent games are 'down the road' but not out yet.

What's the best online-enabled game currently available for the Wii? I know Red Steel is for 1-4 players, does it have an online component? Reviews say it is mediocre at best, and multiplayer isn't all that great.

Is there anything released yet that is good multiplayer with online component? Right now, I'm impatiently waiting for Blazing Angels, which has been delayed several times, and is now slated for late-March (16-player online, supposedly).

You bought the wrong console if you're looking for online multiplayer games. That has never been a strong point for Nintendo. If you're looking for unique games/franchises, that offer an intuitive way to play games, the Wii is for you.

What games do you like to play? Wii code?

I thought Nintendo's multiplayer was decent in the past, with games like 007, MarioKart, etc. Sure, not online MP, but that was back when online games weren't big for anyone.

I'm looking for just about any games, other than sports. I already have Tiger07 on my PS2, so I don't need that again, and have never been a big Madden person.

I was thinking about elebits, it's supposed to be a lot of fun and is 1-4 players. Looking over the release schedule, there are some good games to come for MP, but it just doesn't look like many are out yet.

I'll post my code when I remember to write it down.

I think HeatSeaker looks to be more promising than Blazing Angels.

Best Wii Games Thusfar:
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (best game ever! lol; seriously, best zelda game ever, best launch title ever; that damn fishing game is fun by itself, great controls)

Sonic: Secret Rings (Being called the best 3d sonic game; I rented it, and it is pretty good.)

Madden 2007 (rated best madden among all the consoles, including 360 and PS3; new controls offer a great experience)

SSX Blur (I bought it and love it; steep learning curve)

Need for Speed: Carbon (intuitive controls)

Future Games
SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL (ALL HAIL THE KING! lol; it will be awesome)
Super MArio Galaxy
Metroid Prime (looks amazing)

What you'll have to remember that it is still early in its life. Many people are calling the Wii, the GC 2.0, but the fact of the matter its more powerful than the GC + Xbox combined. Not quite the powerhorse of the 360, or PS3, but capable of alot more than what we have seen thusfar. (There were games on GC that look next gen; i.e. Rebel Strike, Resident Evil 4)

Currently, the only online game is Pokemon. (in JP)

SSB will always kick ***. Are they going to have that online in the future?

That is supposed to be online.
Not to mention that Snake from Metal Gear is in it as well.

Unfortunately, Heatseeker is solo-play only. If it were an MP game, I'd want it - but Blazing Angels wins that aspect. It's too bad, I've always been a fan of codemasters.

The only gameplay modes on offer in Heatseeker are a single-player campaign and a mission mode that lets you replay individual levels from said campaign.

Mike, Reece is right on this one. For now there's squat. MP3, SSB, and Pokemon will be the big draw on the online multiplayer side of things when they get here.

I have Zelda (agree almost totally with Reece on this one), Trauma Center (great single player, no multi), Wiiplay (fun, more fun with two people, but nothing incredible), and Wii Sports obviously which I will love for the rest of my life. Golf owns me. I could play those 9 holes over and over and over again and never get mad. I need to beat my -7! Addictive.

My brother has Excite Truck which offers a fairly challenging single player mode with a lot of crap to unlock and is a good two player game. I have nearly beaten it. He also has Madden which is a lot of fun (like all Madden games). The Wiimote stuff actually feels good and not too gimmicky. He was looking at picking up Elebits as well.

Tiger Woods is going to own me. 18 courses of real golf swinging action. Game over. It's coming out in 10 days.

Other than that I'm looking foward to Cooking Mama and Super Paper Mario.
