IF you had the money what would you give me for my turbo elantra? Its a 2005 ALpine stage 1 turbo tein lowering springs, 2.5 costum exhaust with catco hi flow cat and magnaflow muffler, Autometer cobalt boost gauge in guage cup on steering wheel! Im wondering for future refrences because me and the wifey might buy a house we found and fell in love with. SO let me know. The car has 22k on it only.

I hate to say it, but you're gonna lose your butt on this one. Modified cars carry little value to the majority of buyers. IMO, if you're serious about selling the car return it to stock, sell off your parts and then try to sell the car. You'll still lose money, but it shouldn't be AS bad.

When you mod a car, it's almost worthless to a dealer. Imports at least. People that customize cars want to do it their way. and the car is worthless as a trade with mods like a painted dash. what old granny is going to want custom KDM guages in KPH and cheap spray paint chipping off of the dash. Get my point. Your only hope is ebay, if your lucky, or selling it to some spoiled 16 year old that want a "phat" ride right off the bat and doesn't have any patience to do it him self. If I was sixteen again, id finance a car with a turbo already, over only having 100 bucks for a walmart wing, any day. Wouldn't you?
but you are better returning it to stock. your best bet is a classy, well done body kit and wheels. Those sell better than anything else. And a dealer told me that. Custom turbos can break thing (ie: toymachine. sorry to use you as an example pal) and ricer mods done by over excited kids get you even less value to a dealer. I got 5 grand for my tib (see my sig and click the link) It had been in a 12,000 dollar accident and the body wasn't quite straight. But they said it had been done well enough (the kit and paint job) that they could sell it pretty easy. I had a custom exhaust and obx headers and an intake. They told me they were taking the headers off because of the exhaust wrap. To the untrained eye, a heatshield looks nicer.

Whatever they said!!
Return it to stock to sell it.

tell ya what, list it on autotrader with a list of what you've done and what not and I bet you you'll be getting calls for it within a week. Hate to say it but you have to take advantage of todays' youth when it comes to this kind of stuff. Moddified imports are in high demand with high schools kids that want to be in the "cool" crowd. My car isn't even boosted or have much done to it but exhaust and computer and i've already gotten several offers that were way above what the car is worth.Yeah that may sound like bs but keep in mind that 90% of people on this site tend to be WAY too negative about things. You'd be surprised what you'll be able to get out of it since its starting to get closer to summer and the kids are getting their drivers license. Hell if anything just put a for sale sign in the window whenever you park the car.

Certainly a dealer and most normal buyers might not want a modded car, but you just have to sell it within the 'tuner' community or someone who's interested in getting into it. Go to car shows and advertise. (?)

The hard part about trying to sell it private-party, is not many people have that much cash laying around. When they go to a bank to find a loan, the bank is giong to laugh at paying $12K for a used Elantra, as they don't see modifications adding value.
My buddy had this problem when he was trying to sell his Firebird Formula. It was immaculate and garage kept, hardly any miles. When he went to sell it, he asked a fair price for the condition of the car. Everybody that was interested in buying it couldn't get a loan for the amount, because the banks said the car "wasn't worth that much." If you default on the loan, and the bank repos your car, the car doesn't = all their money; in their minds. He ended up having to sell the car for much, much less because he had to get rid of it, and there's no telling when he would have found a buyer with enough cash on-hand.

TO be perfectly honest Van Horn dodge will give me 11500 for it right now and I know that for a fact because about two weeks ago I almost bought a srt-4 on impulse. And I aslo no for a fact that a person with good credit can get a loan for it for 13k because my brother in law is a loan officer and we already went over this

my dealership was flushing some 06 sonatas 3 months after i bought my car, they had like 3-4k off right off the bat, i coulda had a sonata for only 1000 more then the elantra if ida waited.. but thats just always how it is i guess.. something better always comes up when its too late
