I prettty much have everything I need for my custom turbo setup: TD04, sonata injectors, walbro 255, custom turbo manifold, starion front mount. My question is where would be the best place for oil feed, to tap in for the oil feed line....any info is greatly appreciated, thanx in advance....

Yes we can, but then you will probably loose the unit itself....
you are tapping into oil pan? huh?

The line coming off the sending unit with a tee or going in the block right after the pump are the two best places for the feed while taping the pan at a point so that the oil doesnt mix too much air into the oil, but still low enough for gravity to do its job, like just above the midline in the pan should do nicely.

Tor, are you saying that you can feed your turbo with oil from the oil pan? how the hell would oil be going up the lines, or is there enough pressure to do that?

and then you would put a return line right next to the feeding line? It doesn't sound right to me for some reason

No you feed oil from the sending unit or by tapping the block after the oil pump. The oil flows from there to the turbo and then out of the turbo to a return line on the oil pan.

ok, thats what I thought. For some reason I thought you said that you can feed your turbo with oil from the oil pan, and it didnt sound right

Nope, that will lead to you turbo going bye bye.

just out of curiousty....where is the oil sending unit located on the 02 elantra...the reason I ask is because if it is easier to tap into the sending unit then I will do that....

I wouldnt tap into the head, i would go off the sending unit or block, but not the head. I dont have a good picture right now, but if no one else finds it ill try later.

The sending unit is located on the front-right side of the engine, just behind and below the exhaust manifold. I'd just say put a T-fitting in it, supply your oil, and hook up the Sending unit.

I figured putting a tee in at the sending unit would probably give the best results and would be the safest as well....thanx for all the help :D

Tapping can risk getting shavings in the oil supply so the tee is the easiest solution.
