More chick: Tib or Eclipse

Just to stir up some controversy ;)
Which is more of a chick car, tib or eclipse?
lets compare v6 tib with i4 eclipse to keep the hp close (172 vs 162).

(I guess I should have started this as a poll... oh well...)

That's close. . . . I'd have to say Eclipse. Throw in the V6 eclipse and it's the Tib.

Eclipse all the way. We had a "chic car" discussion a while back and I remember looking up buyer demographics. Over 60% of Eclipse buyers are women. It is the number one (highest percentage of female buyers) chic-car on the road, followed by the VW Beetle, if I remember correctly.

BUt at least the GT Eclpise has some serious stock performance to back it up. THe Tib still just looks good.

uh...performance...edmunds said it best when the called it a "sporty coupe and not a sports car." Power does not a sports car make. and it doesnt equal performance. Just look at any 60's or 70's GM or mopar. it's hard to believe the Mirada was considered a sport coupe.

It makes sense that my wife's favorite car is #2 on that list, and she debated wanting #3 instead of the Santa Fe we bought in '04.

Also, I just saw somewhere that over 70% of RAV4s are purchased by women. But the RAV4 has nothing to do with this discussion, and the Eclipse does.

when I see that car, I just think of the song "my humps" because it has a huge ***. makes sense that a girl would be driving it, and I am surprised when i see a guy driving one.

I think debating over something like this is retarded. With that said, the Eclipse is more of a girl car, in fact the last non girl Eclipse was the first gen and even that is debatable.

Although I think I agree with Bob's assesment on this one.

Also, I agree that the Tib or Eclipse should be called a "Sport Coupe" or "Sport Compact" and not a "Sports Car."

depends on the generation.

1g eclipse = guy car (any trim)
2g eclipse GST/GSX = guy car
2g eclipse GS/RS = chick car
3g eclipse = chick car (any trim)
4g eclipse = chick car (my opinion)

RD tibs = chick car
RD2 tibs = chick car
GK tibs (i4) = chick car
GK GT tibs = guy car

i say eclipse, but totally dis-agree with the RD comment. being that ive actually never seen a chick driving one. and i know 5 different RD's in my town. GK's on the other hand i see girls driving all the time. along with alantra's ;)

To be honest, I only remember one teenage guy driving an RD when I was across the street at the Hyundai store. THe other dozens were driven by women of all ages.

I second that emotion. The only reason my rd2 was a chick car is because it always had a chick in it with me...because it was hot and chicks loved it. (notice i never said I was hot...LOL)

hm. def eclipse. but i would never drive one even though im a "chick"... just because it looks like a "sports car" doesnt mean it drives like a stereotypical one.... theres a girl intown driving one, light pink with white stars... totally stupid....
