Of all the time I have spent on Hyundai forms over the last 6 years I've never seen this mentioned and I just put it all together in my head while I was trying to go to sleep last night. But, the cars (ones with four door options) are coded in such a way alphabetically from smallest to largest starting in 1999/2000/2001 depending on model.

Atos PA
Getz/Click TB
Accent LC, MC
Elantra XD, HD
Sonata EF, NF
Azera/Grandeur XG, TG
New Luxury Sedan/Genesis BH
Rumored 7 series sized VI

Then there are the two door only cars.

Tiburon/Tuscani/Coupe GK
No other cars to compare as of yet

Then there are the SUVs.

Tuscon (Don't know codes... something L maybe?)
Santa Fe SM, CM
Veracruz (Don't know the codes... something N maybe?)

I don't know where the Entourage would fit in with this.

Can anyone shed some light on the Tuscon, Veracruz or Entourage?

You theory is quite a good one, I really like it. :thumbsup:

However, what about the RD coupe? That's the only exception I can think of.

Tucson = GL
Terracan = HP
Trajet = FO

:)

Are those accurate for the Tuscon, Terracan and Trajet?

As for the RD, that's what I'm saying, the new code system came about in the 1999/2000/2001 models (Korean). The Accent X3, Elantra J2, and other earlier models don't fit either.

Edit: Sorry, GL was just the trim level for the Tucson.:redface:

Actually the Tucson is JM

I read that on another forum too but it doesn't make sense in my equation so I think it must be wrong. Of course, that's just because I want to be right.
