is it hard.. NO.. Go to your local best buy, circuit city, buy the wire harness, and obviously the head unit you want.. Then take the wire harness that is provided by the head unit and match the colors w/ the wire harness that you had to buy seprately.. Once that is done, remove your dash fascia by removing 2 screws above the dash cluster and the 2 bolts inside your ash tray. then remove your OEM head unit saving the brakets on the side.. Mount those brackets onto the new headunit.. plug all connectors into their respective place and put everything back together.. If you take your time and completely new.. We're talking about 1-2 hours depending on your comfort leve.. Enjoy your new radio!!

I just went to best buy and like every other week they have a thing where if you purchase a new head unit costing $99 or more the install is free, you'd have to end up buying the wiring harness either way, then your done.

If that's a way to get the adapter for free, sounds like a good deal. I'd rather do it myself personally, but to each his own.

The first time you remove your dash fascia, it will seem intimidating, but I can get mine off in about 5-10 minutes; it's not that big of a deal once you've done it once or twice.

To me, the hardest part is disconnecting the electrical connectors for the things mounted in the dash fascia; especially the Air Bag light, hazard switch, and clock. They're not hard to do, but the first time you do it it takes a little while since you can't really see back there and you're working by feel.

Each connector has a little button or tab that needs to be pushed in to release it. On some of the connectors, even when the tab is pressed it's still hard to pull the connector out, so you don't know for sure whether you're pressing the right thing in. After doing it once, it gets much easier.

Popping off the whole fascia at once is not as big a deal as you might think. Start at the bottom near the ash tray and just pull it out from the dash. The fasteners will pop one or two at a time until you get to the vent at the other end by the window.

And one note: The screws are not "inside your ash tray"; they are behind it. Pull out the ash tray, depress the metal catch at the top to pull it out the rest of the way, and the screws are in the back of the ash tray opening.

Also, you need to move the tilt wheel down, and if you have an AT, move the shifter back to at least neutral to get the fascia off.

+1^^^ It really is not that hard, just take your time with popping those clips and you should be ok.
