I was looking around at all sorts of Hemi stuff and came across the 300C SRT-8, due in February 2005, with a 425hp 6.1L Hemi, nice, but I happened across this article in Popular Hot Rodding (http://popularhotrodding.com/features/0404phr_dodge/) This Kris Horton guy is a wizard of 3D modelling and this concept is amazing!! It's what I've been dreaming about from Dodge for a very long time, a 2-door V8 RWD performance car, with a Hemi no less. I wonder if Dodge would actually ever build anything like this.

Definitely a sweet lookin car...I know they are supposed to come out with a sedan based off the 300c that Im pretty sure they were going to name the charger(not certain though). They definitely have some swweett dodge concepts out there but I havent seen any news on them going into production.

Dodge has to get their heads out of their asses and put the Hemi into something other than a sedan or an SUV/pick up. What a waste. Who cares if an oversize wagon has a hemi in it?

I don't think thats the case GT. That hemi engine is a relatively good match for its current applications. It would be nice to see it in something more sporty, but I am almost certain that it is in the works. They have re-vamped a lot of their product lines, I would say that it is unfair to say they have their heads up their asses just because it doesn't all come out at once, or just because the sports car wasn't # 1 on their list.

Dodge rocks, they really do. If Hyundai doesn't recapture my attention within the next year or so, I'm headed back to my roots. My grandfather owned only Chryslers and Dodges, my grandmother owned nothing but Dodges, and my father has had a lot of Dodges. I'm not even sure how I got sidetracked.

lol Chrysler is making a nice comeback right now too, I like the Srt-6 and the 300c, both nice looking cars with a little somethin under the hood. And Dodge's srt line is kickass

I'd guess the Charger would have to be built to compete with the Mustang, because if they made it too good, it would enter Viper territory.
Sounds like a good idea to me. Ford is making a new Mustang, Chevy is making a new Camaro, where's Dodge in this scene? Let the horsepower wars begin! :D

I was under the impression that the charger would be a 4-door(Although it seems odd I know, I read it in automobile or something) It is supposed to be based off the 300c platform like the magnum(but not a wagon). So i don't think that it will compete with the mustang :)

Yeah, if you notice my post, the Charger concept above isn't from DaimlerChrysler, it's just an exercise in what could be. I just thought it was the hottest looking concept I'd ever seen. The official Dodge Charger concpet is this thing, which I don't like the look of at all actually, it's only redeeming feature is the two cars sitting behind it.

The SRT-8 was unveiled in Pebble Beach last week and it is based on the current production 300C. Here is the press release:
Chrysler Adds Even More Horsepower to HEMIŽ with New 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT-8
ˇ Additional 85 horses - 25 percent more power - builds more momentum for HEMIŽ and Chrysler 300
ˇ Chrysler reveals 425-horsepower Chrysler 300C SRT-8, powered by new 6.1 - liter HEMI V-8
Pebble Beach, Calif., - With 85 more horses under the hood, the momentum continues for the Chrysler 300 and its legendary HEMIŽ engine. Today, the Chrysler Group revealed the 425-horsepower 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT-8, which arrives in showrooms next spring.
"With a nearly 50 percent take rate, the HEMI is a critical ingredient to the success of the Chrysler 300," said Dan Knott, Director - Street and Racing Technology (SRT). "With the new 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT-8, we are now adding even more horsepower to the HEMI and even more performance to the Chrysler 300C"
Preliminary performance targets for the 300C SRT-8 are 0-60 mph in the low 5-second range and quarter-mile time in the high13-second range.
There are still rumors circulating of bringing back the Charger...but we'll all just have to wait and see. In the mean-time, some pics of the new 300C SRT-8...

6.1L making 425hp, I've read that like 10 times in my Hemi google travels. How sweet is that? I could easily deal with it in black with a Dodge style grill.
