a couple days ago i receive a $25. off coupon for service OR parts, it states
"your local hyundai dealer" which happens to be one that's closes to my home, but this dealer is no longer there (closed). so i go to another dealer parts dept, the manager there says he won't honor it and claims he will not be reimbursed. this voucher has my name & VIN # on it. what can i do? I know he is blowing me off.

Most every Hyundai dealership (or any dealership) is it's own franchise. If one sends you a coupon, it's not automatically redeemable at another dealership.

this coupon isn't issued from a dealer, how could it be if that dealer is gone out of business, it's gotta be from hyundai of America!! the man at the sales counter was offering me a 25% off, i made it clear to him it said $25. off, he was just laughing about it. I'm sure this voucher can be redeemed at any dealer, the manager just wont wait for reimbursement that's all. I will go to the small claims court part in my county BRONX, NY. this dealer is located in westchester and i know he will deffinately will not want to go before a judge here in the aweful borough. i have done this before and have won.

Email Hyundai or call and complain i'm calling the california office tomorrow, boy are they gonna get it from me!!!

I apologize, Felex. I didn't completely comprehend what you said in your original post that the coupon was a generic from the company stating it was for use at "Your local Hyundai dealer".

If it's from corporate Hyundai, they are probably required to honor it.

I'd start by giving Hyundai Corporate a call and ask them some questions. If you aren't able to make contact or get the answers you want, you can always find out who the parts manager's boss is and have a talk with him about redeeming your coupon.

Just go at it with a calm demeanor ... if you go in "liquored up and pissed off", you'll just get a knee jerk reaction and put them on the offensive and they will fight you.

As a side note, it's interesting that your nearest Hyundai dealership has closed down. The dealership closest to my new home has also closed down but they are still doing service for Hyundais at one of their Mitsubishi dealership.

thanks for the advice, i will do what you suggested.

i called customer service today, the rep said sorry charlie! Hyundai is deff on a down cycle in the car market, 2 dealers near me have closed shop. hyundai needs to build cars that are turbo charged and sleek looking, who wants a 100HP engine anyways!

I completely agree with above statement. Project turbos just aren't fun when they break. LoL.

Actually, those flyers are printed out for the specific dealers from a third party. The dealerships get them printed up and typically have a contract to release certain "promotions" throughout the year. Another dealership cannot get reimbursed from them because it's not their program. Sure it sucks, but every manufacturer and most dealerships run something of the kind.

It's like getting a coupon from Autozone for a free (insert product here). When you take it to Napa, they'll tell you that they can't match it because they cannot get reimbursed for giving away (insert product) because the manufacturer of (insert product) made a deal with AZ to reimburse them for x-amount of that product.
