Modding Meet April 15th

Ok so i got the idea after my dad just laid some sick tile in on the garage floor and i got some new tools. So heres the deal. Im going to take off from work Sunday April 15th (the weekend after Easter). I have tons of mods waiting to go on and im sure you guys and gals wanna get the car ready for summer. So my Goal is to have a bunch of us (CrookedH, EXD, ElantraClub and NewTiburon Members) meet up at Bald Hill for some before pics. (bald hill is exit 63 on the LIE) i live about 5 minutes from there. i have a 2 car garage and a driveway that can fit 2 cars. other than that i live on a super not busy street so its not a problem to work on cars in the street. A cool thing about my house is its a Gated Commnuity with 2 clubhouse with tons of stuff. Between the 2 clubhouses there are the following:

2 Indoor pools
2 outdoor pools
1 hot tub
4 tennis courts
1 full basketball court
1 pool table
2 weight rooms/fitness centers
2 Racketball courts
4Card tables
1 Botchie ball court ( i think i spelled it wrong)

so theres all that in walking distance from my house. i think it would be a good time. i know i have a ton of stuff to do to my car and would love a set of hands and i would love to lend a set on someone elses. so what do you say. post if your interested.

I should be around that day to come check out some of the other Hyundai's in the area. sounds like fun. i got a buddy with an 04 Tib GTV6 around the corner who may be around and is interested in coming to see everyone too. I've corrupted him with modding obsession and got him in the craze too. lol You can throw me on that list for now. hopefully i'll make it out there!

Well its pretty easy to get to where we're meeting. where are you coming from? if you know how to get the LIE which is Interstate 495 your taking that all the way east out to exit #63 (North Ocean Ave.) when you get off the exit make a left heading north. after the 4th light you start heading uphill, stay in the left lane, when you get to the top of the hill theres a big Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a parking lot on the left!

if your coming from the north or west of long island i suggest the Cross Bronx Expressway (I95N) to the Throggs Neck Bridge. Then take the Cross Island Expressway south to the LIE. i'll look up the address of bald hill and post it so everyone can mapquest. also as it gets closer, i'll PM everyone my Cell # incase anyone gets lost.

Just tied mapquesting it but theres no # address. so put this in to mapquest, and just choose any location on North ocean. when you get to exit 63 follow my directions posted above.

since people are coming from CT, NJ, NY and LI i'll just post the address so you can mapquest. We're going to meet up at Bald Hill Vietnam Veterans Memorial Parking lot. take some pics and from there go back to my house. we'll work out a time to meet later this week. not too early maybe 10am or so. so it should work if you put this into Mapquest:

Just counted space on my street, if my one set of neighbors get their cars off the street in their driveway, and my other neighbors move their cars out of their driveway to the other road, i can fit 16 cars (2 in my garage, 2 in my driveway, 2 in my neighbors driveway) the rest on one side of the street. if more than 16 cars show up which it looks like there will be, we're gonna park on both sides and just block the street.... screw everyone! they can turn around and drive another way! haha

heres what i could use....

Scrap plywood (to put under jacks and stands to protect the driveway and tile garage floor)

Jacks and stands (only have 2 jacks and 2 stands)

any tools you would need for your job, i have a decent rachet set, breakerbar, torque wrench and basic tools.

i will be installing my Ported and Pollished intake manifold with Phenolic spacer, Ark pulley set, and if i have time i need to replace both front fenders and my driver door.

hah im complaining about the allentown meet beint just over 5 hrs from me, this one would take me over 7. dont think im swinging a 14+hr round trip unless its an all expense paid vaca lol

yea thats a big hike. im lookin at comin to the Allentown meet as well. it should take about 3 hours each way for me. maybe less depending on my speed.

As it gets closer its lookin like its still gonna rain. Im workin in my garage Rain or shine. i think 4 people said they're comin Rain or shine already. dont blame you guys if you dont come in the rain since we can only work on 2 cars at a time (in the garage).

either way, i'll be at the north lot of bald hill at 10am. anyone who wants to come, be there by 1030am.

It looks like its going to be a major storm on Sunday. There saying a Noreaster. Man just on my birthday the weather is going to be terrible. Sorry Justin it looks like a major weather change. Like I said not just rain but a Noreaster. If you do work on your car take some pics. Next time there is a DIY hopefully I can make it I have so many tools now that I had to purchase for school that I can actually help out. LOL

Im still workin on my car.... i have no other time to reschedule. I work saturday and sunday 9-5 and already took off for sunday. You guys dont have to come, i definately dont blame you. I think there were a few people that said they were comin rain or shine, but they live within 45 minutes or so. i have a 2 car garage so 2 cars can be worked on at a time. Just got my impact gun in as well so that will be fun to use.

Keyan, if you dont want to come wait till this week, i'll be a short drive from the GWB we can meet up and i can give you that shift boot.

Im gonna go ahead and say this thing is canceled. if its as bad as they're saying, i dont want anyone driving to my house in this. its gonna be really bad out there with winds gusting up to 50mph! screw it, i'll have my buddy who lives near by come over and help me with the pulleys and see what else we feel like doing.

italianpryde200 (Mike) from NT showed up and gave me a hand. couldnt have done it without him! we did 2 out of 3 Ark pulleys (couldnt do the water pump pulley today). also swapped my dented fender and damaged wheel well plastics. took a while, but stayed dry!
