Just thought id share my weekend project i enjoy working with. 92 Eclipse gs converted to a boosted drag car (in the process) Also tells a little about me and my background.

I think you're confused. The 3000GT on the front page of the link, is not the same car as the eclipse track-car project. That car doesn't have a kit or wing.

that the drag car is an eclipse not my previous 3000gt which was a daily commuter car....

Then why the hell is there the picture in the front?

Anyways I've never even seen a 3000gt over here, so I just guessed it was a riced up eclipse with yaddi yadda headlight conversion.

Good job on the drag car.

But only a one gallon fuel cell? If you end up making like 900whp you'll have to refill every run, lol.

ah you chose a 1st gen. good. i like those more than the 2nds. my only real advice is think carefully about what you do before you go about doing it. theres nothing worse then redoing something to fix a mistake you made.

Yah, thats why i sold the 3000gt, couldn't drive it daily anymore after a while, i started gutting all the saftey items and it was unsafe to drive anymore and wicked fast. i sold it to get a daily driver and save up for a nice project car to work on and do whatever to with my hearts content.

AH well only reason i chose to make a drag car out of a 1st gen was because, i mean face it 1st gens are a dime a dozen (non turbo models) and no one will miss one if its totaled or gutted out. now a nice 3000gt i couldn't really strip down to bare metal and and do that to. but ive saved alot of stuff i ripped outa the eclipse, and ill probably get rid of most if not all once the car is running but im gonna hang on to it until then just incase i need somthing still for some reason.

you never seen a 3kgt in your parts??? odd.....

well yah one gallon since i figured its only a track car, cut weight wherever possible and every gallon of gas weighs 6 lbs. since the car is stripped immensly already might as well go the full mile ya know.

About the 3000GT (which is a sweet car), read the about me section of the site. It is long, but interesting and explains the road to getting the nissan.

is it legal to do the harness like that?

I was under the imperssion that the shoulder straps needed to be attatched at a point above the shoulder so they wouldnt compress your spine in a crash.

are you going to put in a cage or roll/harness bar?

i just read that entire site and im right there with you bro. ive been ****ing up.... errrr modding cars since i was 16 also. though we went different paths, im more of an independent learner and know NA and electrical work (got certified in electronics, copper/fiber optic cabling, and computers my senior year of high school) and breath cars. i would love to work on cars as well, and cant wait to see the results on you eclipse.

There is no 3000 GT or GTO up here (well none that I know of), but we got the Dodge Stealth ...
