Bad luck with my XD...

If its not 1 thing its another! first my motor blew then while I was putting that in my friends broke my clutch, took it to the shop to get them to finish it up and my starter grinds (they put 5-6 of them in and they all do that so to start my car u have to pop the clutch!) and now I just blew 3rd and 4th gear in my tranny! All I have is 1st 2nd 5th an reverse :(. Should I get my car towed to the tranny shop and have the starter and tranny problem fixed or just sell the car/part it out?

the starter might be grinding because of the flywheel...did you replace it or maybe even flip it around on the new engine??

and unfortunetly when one syncro starts the others are soon to follow...

did you check the slave cylinder??

yeah man, sorry to see you're running into troubles like this :(. I actually decided to buy a new trans while doing the motor swap to avoid this exact issue.

Yeah well I want to fix it and it better be fixd before the meet! But I rebuilt the turbo, bought a new engine, new axles, new flywheel, new ACT 4puck clutch kit, made custom motor mounts, a new starter and things cont. to break! Its one thing after another...what I probably will do is buy a dd and tear my car down and do it right, make sure there is no half way jobs this time. Anyways if for some reason I part her out you'll be the first to know lol. Anyone know were I can get another 5spd tranny from?

I past this stage as well, but now with all the money put out I'd be lucky to get back even half. I'm past the point of no return :)

your best bet is, as you said, a dd while you rework your entire car. It makes working on the car a little less stressful since your not really on a strict time restraint. My time goal is to have the car done by the time of the meet :cool:

Well my friend is going to rebuild the tranny and fix the starter issue, were going to make sure everything else is good then the car is going up for sale, hoping to get like $9000 obo lol. I had a girl offer me $12,000 a while back but I declined it, shouldve taken it, oh well.

lol, it's like we are sailing on the same boat. I thought after I get the car done, to sell as well. But I dont think that is going to happen. To much already put into it to get back. Good luck with your issues.

Yeah I am still unsure, i am tossing all the ideals around and still am unsure as to what to do. I am pretty sure I am going to fix it after I fix it though I dont know if I will sell it or not, I meen I love my XD its so much fun but its starting to eat all of my $$, but as most say I am past the point of return and so close to actually finish building it just have to work out some lil things on the way...at least my friend does transmision work on a daily basis and offered to rebuild mine for free :D
