Let me start by blaming the Hyundai Forums for every mod on my car, O and the fact that I am addicted to Ebay.... Thats a bad combo. I used to spend money on snowboarding and surfing, Im overdue for a new Surfboard and wetsuit, but would rather spend the money on my car. That being said:

I had an old Jetta that kept breaking down, and having a 2 year old at the time made it unsafe. So with the help of my parents I purchased a 2001 elantra GT with 42K miles on it for $8000 in July of 2004. Only mods were aftermarket stereo, SRI, and Surf Racks. 13 months later this happened:

Fell asleep at the wheel on the way home from work. That pole didnt move out of my way! well after i walked away without a scratch from a pretty serious accident I couldnt see myself driving anything else. I searched for almost a month before I found another XD Hatch that was 5speed and in good condition. So I bought my 02 GT bone stock September 2nd 2005. Its been just over 2 years and about $10k later with a Motor swap and a Turbo this is what i have.

that was a photoshop pic my buddy did for his AWD forum. im one of the few fwd cars on his forum. (completely off topic, he has a WRX and started a AWD forum but now is converting to RWD... haha)

some new additions to the car.....i just clayed it and the car shines like i've never seen before! added the OEM high spoiler in black. Put black vinyl on the door handles too. just another addition to the Red/Black theme.

Just had my windows Tinted! i was trying to keep it as close to legal as possible to avoid getting pulled over. i went with 50% for the front 2 windows, 35% the rest of the way around, and 35% windshield banner. In the sun it looks really light, but in the dark it looks alot darker. im very happy with the tint job, it has a lifetime warranty. i paid $200 and got a free bottle of Gliptone tint cleaner. i have a ton of pics in different lighting........ looks good.I would of gone darker in the back.I think ohio's is like 35%in the front and 50% in the back.I might not be right tho.

i could have gone darker on the hatch window, but i had a car that was 20% all around and i hated driving at nite. i think my next mod will be an EXD windshield banner!

The window tint looks really nice on the red car with the black wheels and rub strips. Pretty snazzay!

I did 20% windshield, 35% all sides, and 20% rear on mine and I think it's JUST right. I also went with a pure metal tint that is somewhat reflective and it really cuts the heat! $235 with a lifetime warranty for material and labor.

Oh, and the red calipers are NICE! What a great looking car!

Your tint looks great. I have an 06 Elantra xd and my tint is 5% all around. IT is very illegal but i love it. I go to school in DC though, and my plates are from NJ. So i don't get too many tickets

wow this has been a while. Thanks to Cory for letting me find this old thread. i will have lots of updates this week and the next few weeks should be interesting as i am going to be installing a custom turbo kit. keep a lookout for some new fun mods.

the following will be installed by Sept 1st:
Inovate Wideband o2 sensor (installing that tomrrow)
G7 removable rear strut bar (installing that Thursday August 30th)
KYB GR2 Tiburon Struts with H&R springs (installing those Tuesday (August 28th)

i know, i sat down with the manual and cried...... so i called in for some help.

Nick (EliteWarMachine) a member on NT helped me with my multigauge install. he has a turboed V6 tib that he did himself and installed the Zetronix wideband with the APEXI NEO. so he'll do most of the work i hope! haha

so tonight i have to sleep on the boat in bridgeport at work. so im gonna bring my car on the boat and the last trip across im gonna install the 2.5bar map sensor from SFR along with the Shark Racing remapped ECU i got from mayollo. will be nice doing this while im on the clock! haha

Will post pics later, but i did a bunch of work today.

Uninstalled the Apexi Neo, Installed an Obnoxious vaccum hub, redid all vac lines, fixed my HID's and installed, reinstalled my tinted oem fogs.

i pulled the charge pipe going to the TB and threw an intake on. im trying to pass inspection for NYS which is rediculously hard. just have drive the 60miles for emissions and its ready to go, then the pipe will go back on along with the unichip and im all set for my dyno tune. (2 shops by my house now have unichip software) one place is $450 set price, the other is $100/hr. just gotta figure out which place to go to. the $450 set price place is No Limit Motorsports, well respected WRX/STI, Evo tuner (where i dynoed 1st. the other is an up and comming Honda, nissan, Mazda shop with an inground mustang dyno. i know i know mustang dynos suck. but they have a sick R34 and a new GTR they've worked to the balls at their shop. i would go back to my friends shop with the dynomatic dyno for a dyno anyway after either tune.
