so the amplifiers won't turn on whenever your cd or ipod feature is on. do they work when the radio is on? if so, i have never heard of something like that before. if they just won't work at all, then make sure the power antenna in properly connected to your stereo or amplifiers. this has to be a problem related to wiring, make sure everything is connected properly.

sounds like the remote turn on wires for the amps are hooked to a "power antenna" lead (which turns off when not in radio mode). Some of those fancier headunits have separate remote wires for power antennas and amplifiers.

ok so the amp wires need to be hooked to what i think i do have it hooked up to the power antenna

Power antenna is correct on most head units, but as I said - some - will have a separate remote lead for amplifiers and equalizers, etc.

If not, you can hook the remote leads to the amp to the accy turn-on lead for the headunit (that works with the car on/off keyed).

Good call! Thinking Elantra not considering a power antenna hook up. Yeah, remote just needs to be wired to something that goes on and off with the key. Good luck man!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped me figure out what the problem was with the headunit, and it was cause of the power wire and the remote.

Maybe so, but it's worth it in the end. You saved the money for labor, and learned something new.
