Well not really.
I drive about 80+ miles per day to school and work and was tired of putting so many miles on my XD.

Sooooo.....I bought this beast.

A 1989 Mercury Tracer Station Wagon....lol

It has manual windows even;) Otherwise it everything works great including the A/C. 1988-89 were the only 2 years that the Tracer wasn't interchangeable with the Escort. It is mechanically identical to the 86-89 Mazda 323. So it's rocking a 1.6L 82 HP:D . It has 188,000 and doesn't burn any oil at all, no exhaust or anything. I was pretty surprised. I did replace the fuel pump gasket....I have yet to change the timing belt and valve cover gasket.

What did it cost me you ask;)

$350....and it has a new Alpine CD player..(not my favorite)...and new tires!!

So I think it was a pretty good buy.

Oh, and the shocks are horrible....lol

That's awesome. Sounds like a good deal too. Keep us updated when it breaks down, haha.

I think you should cut off the roof and have a convertible. I saw an accord wagon in an import tuner, many years ago. It looked weird...second thought, don't cut off the roof...:)

wait... good news, i found the link...

timing belt on that is a piece of cake. Just did one on a 1990 323 with the same 1.6l engine, i betcha it could be done in like half an hour if a person worked hard on it.

Looks kind of like the slugs I see crawling out of the ivy around here. LOL

I have a workmate who just sold the first car she ever owned ... a 1987 Mazda 323 hatch. The odometer quit working a few years ago when it had 190,000 miles. She sold it for $700 to a friend and he's been driving it for almost a year with no problems.

I had a 1988 Mercury Tracer hatchback.....I loved that car. I think the timing belt maybe took and hour...if even. I do however hate deer.

Congrats on the wagon!! Outside looks like it's in good condition

It's rusty....it matches in with the color well;)

I used to have an 89 hatchback, the two door. It was a great little car in it's day! I say that was a good find.
