So a little background before getting into the car... Early this month i quit my job to work for a marketing company. I was with this company for a total of 3 days before I realized that they were a bunch of lying bastards. In the time that i was there however, I got to meet with the owner of the company, who is a car nut, and who decided to bring in his most prized possession for a little show and tell. Below, you will see some pictures I snapped of his fully custom corvette. It has a custom body kit, with over $100,000 in engine/body work done on it. he chose the color by bringing in his "lucky shirt" to the paintshop and having them match the color. I wish I could have had some video of this thing in action, the sound was amazing!
enjoy!

100k in engine and body work? i think hes probably BSing you. 10k would be overshooting it for that body kit, and to say 90k in engine mods, that car would have to be so fast, the body wouldnt look stock due to all the safety features that would be needed to handle it

the guy locally who has the twin gt35r turbo zo6 vette doesnt even have 20k into the engine, and after tuning, he will be well over 1k hp

I gotta call BS on that one.

HERE (http://www.lingenfelter.com/pack_cor_c5_725.htm) is the Lingenfelter 427ci 725hp TT package for $45k. To get it over 1000hp is going to take more than that. Unless he's just wanting it one time before the bottom end shoots out from under it. Addin in the necessary trans/rearend/suspension upgrades to actually handle that much power. . . yeah he's got more than $20k invested.

Yeah, was this "marketing company" a generic pyramid scheme deal? People in those things like to show off their cars to make people think everyone will be driving a Corvette/Viper/SL500 in "just a few months." Sounds like it... and as Evan said, there is no way there is $100K of work in that car.

Still, I guess it looks nice.

How 'bout this (http://www.lingenfelter.com/pack_cor_c6_427.htm) for $87k? That is on top of the $50k purchase price.

bob, you of ALL people should know that with the 45k for the lingenfelter package, all you are paying for is the name

theres another guy here w/ an 01 zo6 (402), heads, cam, intake/exhaust and a shot of spray, and hes laying down 645RWHP and 730RWTQ...how big of a shot you ask? a measley 100. he also ran a 10.7 at 135mph last year.

achieving big power in those cars dont take much work.

Not much work, but big bucks. Vettes have NEVER been cheap to make fast(er)

Just that last one here's a quickie break down:

Heads: $2k
Cam:$450
Intake: $300 FIPK/$400 manifold/$350 TB
Exhaust: $1000. headers $600

You're pushing $5k right there in parts alone. Add in a good tune and dyno time and you're pushing $6k. That's no where near being 1000hp and TT.

who said anything about my integra? i didnt say that wheels cant be expensive. im sure theres some 17" wheels that are worth more than my integra.

but back to the statement at hand, there is no way that guy has $100,000 in parts into that car

Is this like you were going to mod the crap out of the integra because it was cheap?

it wasn't a pyramid scheme deal, the company just told me that things would be one way during my interview, but then when i started, nothing was like they said. For example, they said i would full medical and dental coverage. Start the job and its "oh, you dont get any coverage until you become a manager" which would be like 2 years from now. So they were a very dishonest company.

but back to the statement at hand, there is no way that guy has $100,000 in parts into that car

Personally I agree with you, I dont think he has that much invested into the car, but from what i've seen (not saying this is all worth $100k) he has the body kit, the custom paint job, custom hood, custom exhaust, suspension, rims, racing seats, plus whatever he had going on with the engine. Honestly I could see it being $50k max. i'm not sure what corvettes go for these days, but unless he's including the cost of the car itself, i'd have to agree with you guys that its not $100k in work.

But thats what he said, and i didnt get to spend too much time with him, the car, or the company, but damn that car looks and sounds hot!
