That's a good question. I always wondered about this myself. There is a small hole on the back side (that may have a screw in it I don't know cause mine's all full of junk) that may have something to do w/ battery change.

I'm almost positive it pops open, try prying it apart with a screwdriver.

The XD remotes have a little notch along the sides to get something in there to pry it, maybe yours does as well.

Stick a flatbladed tool between the halves of the remote, and gently pry.

It pops open from the sides. I was able to use my fingers. A little harder to get it shut tho.

The answer to the next question: The battery is a CR2032. You can get them just about anywhere (Radio Shack, Walgreens).

Hey I recently change mines, I had a tiny flathead screw eyeglass kit. I inserted into the 2 small dash hole on the buttom of the alarm remote lift each side one at a time and it poped open. closing it is as simple. Hope that helps ya. Battery cost bout 10 - 15 dollars dependin on name brand.
