Yesterday Sucked to say the least!

i had a blowout on my front driverside tire. the wheel started to shake, black smoke, and all that fun stuff. i was on the service road of Sunrise Hwy in a really bad spot with no sholder. so i was disabled in the right lane of the service road in between where the exit and entrance are for the expressway. After sittin in my car with the hazards on while i called AAA for a tow 2 blocks away to pepboys (donut does not fit on my car due to my drop) i noticed people were comin really close to hitting me. a couple times i braced for impact. so the second i had a chance i got out of the car, grabbed my yellow work jacket and stood in the lane behind my car flagging cars around me. finally a cop showed up, got behind me with his lights on and threw some flairs on the road to warn people. but still people were coming really close to hitting us. at one point i had my head in his passenger window and he yells look out throws the car in drive and started to move up. a lady actually came so close she hit a flair.

are people that retarded? i mean heres a cop with his lights goin around and 4 flairs in a lane. anyway after almost dieing he got scared and got out of the car and continued his paperwork on the side of the road away from the cars.

he got impatient and called AAA back and said if they dont get a tow truck here in 5 minutes hes gonna get the police tow truck there! that would mean i have to pay, so i was pissed. anyway the AAA tow truck showed up and had some trouble getting my car on the flat bed. the front bumper rubbed, and my exhaust tip scrapped. wasnt too happy with him.

went to pepboys and **** THEM! the demanded to be able to drive my car into the garage, but i was already on the rim. they wouldnt use a jack and take off my wheel in the parking lot. so i said if i give them the wheel they'll do it. so i had to take my wheel off in the parking lot of pepboys and it took them an hour to change the damn tire. that being said $95 later i got a tire and was 2 hours late to work. Free tow from AAA since i was so close to Pepboys.

i have to drive onto wood blocks to get a jack under my car. the tire almost fell off

the rim held up great, small scrapes on the top of the lip, but not bad considering.

Damn man, that sucks! And for those drivers... Idiotism exists everywhere. And even if people see a cop, some just don't care. But I'm glad you're ok and nobody rammed you.

That sucketh dude. No offense to anyone here but I cannot think of one positive experience at a tire shop. Great pics suprised you thought about it but totally makes a great post.

Sorry to hear about your tire. A good lesson for those who may be considering excessive lowering.

P.S. The lightbar on that police car looks like it's from 1984, haha.

nothing caused the blowout at that instance, but potholes kill my car. i was driving and it just blew out, i didnt it anything. but they have taken a beating many times.

as for the police car, the cop told me he blew his tranny and this is his loaner POS! haha.

Wow that's wierd. I think its pretty unusual for a tire just to blow like that (other ppl please comment). I'm glad you're OK and didn't become a pancake on that "replacement" cop car.

Dude that sucks! Will your insurance pay to have the bumper repainted? Either way at least you didn't get hit while on the side of the road.

Something simular happend with my girlfriends old eclipse. The flat bed scraped the s*** out of front and rear bumper too.

Dude... sucks that happend to you. The same thing happend to me but I ran over a piece of broken truck tire. it was late at night...

bumper doesnt need to be repainted. it popped out.

Holy shredded tire Batman!! Oh yeah, and nails suck ***! Every new set of tires I have ever owned have had a nail in one of them within a week! Sucks man, but coulda been a lot worse.

I dont know about you, but i would've put my car on the grassy shoulder or at least half of my car. I cant tell, is the curb high or level to the road? Sorry for your misfortune though :(

the curb was too high for me to even think about going. once i stopped, i didnt really care where i was, i wasnt moving an inch! not worth fu ckin up my rims

NY drivers are crazy... always in such a hurry. At least most of them have fairly good control of the car though. (unlike Atlanta drivers...).

actually while i was sitting there 2 cops drove by, one was towing one of those electronic signs that says "your speed is __ __ " so i was like, thanks guys

then he showed up and i was like yea 2 cops drove by. hes like yea that was me. haha, he had to get to the precinct, but figured i would still be there when he was done.

whatever, he was nice, and chill as he cursed the idiot drivers that went by
