91 accell

i just aquired a 91 hyundai accell 5 speed it has 78000 miles on it and was owned by a older fella i know but i got it for 500 dollars i was wondering if anyone has ever done a beta swap into this i used to have a 90 that was already pretty fast but i had it completely gutted except the driver's seat but it was like a rocket off the line i guess it's all that power to weight ratio thing going on but first things first cai header highflow cat and muffler input is greatly appreciated

Swap a 4G63 into it. Your better off with that motor, not to mention, it should be a straight bolt in affair.

really it just so happens i have the moto trans and ecu from a 96 eclipse gst and it should mount right up huh???

ive heard the mounts are close but the ECM and wiring harness are different.

could i get a e-z harness and wire it up like they do with small block chevy's

It's an Excel, and yes, the 4g63 (and 4g63t) is nearly a direct swap.

its gonna be awhile before i walk down the road of swapping but in the meantime i'll be giving the xd a little break (not much) from the daily commute so the wife can get around to appointments and whatnot but it will be slightly modded til i get to that point but the car hasn't even broken 100,000 yet so i'll abuse it til it blows just to have an excuse for the swap not that i'm giving up on the xd i'm crooked h for life now:D
