Hey guys whats up!
Im waiting that a DVD with 4" TFT (radio+tv+mp3+bluetooth...) arrives to me on a few days. I think that the installation will be more o less difficult but i think that i'ill can do it. Only 1 thing.. ¿Must I switch off the battery?.¿Where can i get a map or wire diagram of My 05-06 elantra?
Also i have bought a rear camera (for parking) but i dont know where can i fix it... and then how to get the 2 wires (for the camera) from outside car to inside.
Thank you
greetings from spain

For the schematic, www.hmaservice.com
It's most likely going to ask for a constant and switche power. The constant is going to be hooked up basically straight to the battery, but you do not need to run a wire all the way to the battery, just find a wire that suits your need (and won't mess with other stuff). Rear view camera would probably be best mounted near the license plate. How does the camera physically mount?

hi again guys i need some help before start installing my new dvd + tft
I know how to remove dash from car but, where can I find some help on connecting all wires from speakers to dvd. All OEM wires are just "PLUG and play"?. DVD have lots of wires with out connectors (like electrical 2 wires..etc). I have an OEM Alpine installed and i dont know how it is connected. Where can i find some info on all wires on the Alpine? What is the best method of connecting wires (like electrical ones +y-) between dvd radio and car or speakers with out oem connector?. My new radio dvd have also TV ant input... what type of anntena i must buy?
http://www.telefonica.net/web/grandelibre/EXD/dvdradio.JPG
A-> All oem anntenas have same connector?
B-> ACC? BRAKE-IN? REVERSE-IN? ANT-POWER? FOR WHAT that connectors?
C-> Must i connect the OEM speakers to that wires? i thinks that are pre amplificated wires because have writed "PRE-AMP"
THANKS A LOT!! i can make a DIY if i install it
a.
Is if you have a tv tuner in your car, you have to buy them so i say left that one unhooked if you havent got one
b.
ACC -Acc is short for accessories, so it a power line that only get power when on acc or higher (basicly switched 12volt + line)
Brake in - im pretty sure thats for the handbrake so you cant watch dvds while you are driving. if you want to watch it while driving just ground this wire (dont leave it unhooked as you will never be able to watch dvds) so ground or connect it up to your hand brake
Ant power - this is for when you have a power antenna so when the radio turns on it goes up and when you turn off your car it goes down. so just left it unhooked as elantra dont have power Antenna
C.
if you have amps for your speakers you would connect it to the amps rca cables to the front speaker out and rear speaker out. if you dont have any amps then connect the oem speakers to them wires, this will make the speakers run of the dvd with screen.
if there are any more questions let us know

A. My antenna its being shipped to me :D
B. Must i connect BRAKE to negative on battery to see it when i want??
THe antenna on my elantra is automatic... it goes up when i swithc on the radiocd and goes down when i switch off radio. IF u are saying about amplified antenna... Must i connect TV antenna to that wire? (because TV antenna need 12v) or just if i must connect both antennas to 12V-> Must i use both wires ACC & ANT power with the antennas????
C. FOr now i have all OEM elantra spearkes without AMP and only the OEM Alpine Radio CD (here on Spain[Europe] elantra comes with alpine radio cd). Then how are the oem speakers connectors. How its connected now my alpine radio cd to speakers?.ANd... last... wich is the best method to connect 2 wires on car? (i think that no with simple tape)
THANKS THANKS THANKS THANKS

ok
b. to view dvds while driving, you will need to ground the brake wire, if not connect it to the hand brake and you can only watch it with it the handbrake up.
since you have a power antenna you will need to connect it up to the factory wire, im not too sure but if the tv antenna needs power too i guess you can use this one too so have both wires from the tv antenna and power antenna going to it .
c. all the speakers and power are hooked up to a plug whatever you do, do not cut this plug off. you can get some terminals that look like this and you can just connect them to the headunit wires then it plugs straight into the factory plugs

the antenna connect is right it should hook straight up what ever you do dont cut it!!

9 is only if you have a power extending antenna. Unless you added a power extending / retracting antenna, don't use this wire.
10 is only if you have a separate amplifier for your speakers and subwoofer. If you don't have an amp, then don't use this wire.
The other ones should hook up to the stock Elantra wiring harness.
Did you buy a radio wiring harness adapter for your Elantra? It would have all of those wires. Each wire on the adapter harness would be labeled and you wouldn't need to cut anything on the factory harness. That would be the right way to do this job.
1 and 16 are your power lines. 16 is the constant strait to the batt and the 1 is the switched power that comes on with the ignition. 8/black is your ground, it doesnt have to go to the battery, just to a good ground, there should be a black wire already there you can tie into.. dont remember cause i bought a full clip on adapter for my sony hu and didnt have to wire by hand on this one..

Ugzz just told you.
+ = Main battery power = pin number 16
- = Ground = pin number 8
You're making this a lot more complicated than it needs to be.
How many wires do you have on your harness that you're hooking up to the stereo? What color is each wire?

ahhh yes... thanksss ok... ill try to install it soon. the last problem is the radio ant... the connectors are different
you have to get an adapter if the connectors are different. they sell that at most local electronics stores that sell car audio. just tell them your make/model/year and they can find the adapter for you
personally i would recommend having the dash already off when you go to the store and making sure they give you the RIGHT one!! Best buy sold me two wrong antenna adapters so far.. and each time i didnt notice until i had the whole thing ripped apart and ended up driving to the store with no dash lol

HEYYYY!!! whats up!!!! MY DVD+TFT its installed !!:D :D :D :D :D :D
Thanks to all with the help! soon ill post some photos. Last things are the TV antenna and the rear view camera. TV antenna i think its easy, the unique problem its to pass the wires through dash to frontal glasss.
My big problem its how to install the rear view camera. How can i install wires from my trunk to the tft? And where can i fit it to the chassis? if i put it near plate's lights how where must i put the wires?? and if i want to make a hole on the rear bumper, how can i put the wires from outside to my car interior???

just run the wires up the inside of the bumper and under the moulding into your trunk.
That thing isnt a flush mount is it? Yuck most of the camera units are.
^ yeah just run it like any otehr wire to the trunk for a/v whatev..
go in to the bumper and up into the trunk, then under the carpet and around the edge of the rear seats and into the plastic piece that runs the length of the car at the bottom (im blanking on what thats called!?! wtf) and run it under that to the front, then up into the dash and over to the dvdunit
make sure if you drill a hole you plug it up REAL good, i went in around a tail lite on an old car and i thought it sealed well, but after like 2 months i notices i foul smell from teh trunk, water was leakin in and causing mold uner parts of the carpet.. yech
and post up some PICS!!!!

next weekend with relax.... ill try to install it. Ill take some photos for the forum. but Wont be a problem to drill a hole on my trunk for the wires?? i dont want that as Ugzz, water could enter.
Some one had tried to install it on trunk door??? it have wires and holes of the plate lights...

just put the camera where the key is and get a auto trunk popper then get long rca cables to your dvd and there you go
^thats a good idea, but not such an easy install heh
and to do it without an auto popper and extra $$ your either drillin a hole for the wire or your just running it into the trunk and closing the wire in the trunk.. as far as i know the elantra trunks are pretty well sealed i dont think your sneakin the wire in anywhere.. did you check around the licence plate lights like recommended above? that might be the way to go..

sorry but..... POPPER???? what is that??
another question:
My dash its OK but it shows some ugly parts from the interior (only a little). What do u recommend me to fix that problem? Is there any type of gum or something to link to the dash and cover the edge of the DVD??? (ill try to post some photos)

. as far as i know the elantra trunks are pretty well sealed i dont think your sneakin the wire in anywhere.. did you check around the licence plate lights like recommended above? that might be the way to go..
Did you forget the seats fold down and open into the trunk?
You could easily run the wires in the door runner and under the backseat into the trunk.
I know what you mean. if you search the forums there are a ton of people who have discussed this.
Basically most factory surrounds just plain do not fit. So the way to go is to just get some foam surround. anything thats adhesive on the back will work realy. foam, rubber etc. Just take it and cut out the right shape and stick it on.
Sorry about the "popper" heh. what i meant by that was a comment to the above posts about geting a trunk release. What i was talking about was a automatic trunk release, these can be costly and come with some high end security systems. Personally what i talk about opening the trunk i often say "pop" the trunk so i just wrote it that way..
here is one foam idea by kylemorg

and the post:
The chassis is a standard DIN size, so no installation kit is required for physical fit. You will need the adapter harness, though.
The opening in the dash fascia may be too small to include the bezel that comes with your aftermarket unit, but large enough to leave a gap around the detachable faceplate. There are several options here:
1. If you don't worry about the untrimmed area, it will look like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/jrod13/caraudio005.jpg
2. Trim out the unfinished area. I had some foam tape that was about 1/16" thick which I put on the perimeter of the head unit *before* putting the fascia and faceplate on. The foam was pressed under the fascia out the outer edge and when I put the head unit face on, it compressed the foam slightly on the inner perimeter. When I had it this way, it looked like the following picture. Other things besides foam could be used including electrical tape, black construction paper or cardboard.
http://webpages.charter.net/doohickie/Click_On_Index/2006Photos/Elantra/HeadUnitOld.jpg
3. Buy the 00271-84004 OEM unit. My Pioneer unit fit perfectly except that there are small tabs that stick out of the unit (I think for security purposes) that I bent over... then it fit perfectly. It looks like this:
http://webpages.charter.net/doohickie/Click_On_Index/photos/Elantra/HeadUnit.jpg
4. There is a more affordable OEM option that trims out the area but omits the door- it's part number 00273-83000. The doorless kit looks like this when it's installed:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b174/CyberGecco/misc/elantra002Small.jpg
Look through the Do It Yourself guides for more information on stereo installation.
Note: This post was largely copied from a post I made to ElantraClub.com in this (http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6582) thread.

i wasnt clear, i meant from the outside, as in getting a wire from an outside mounted cam into the trunk, as for running from the dash back, yes. the seats fold and actually arent THAT hard to take off, so you can even go under for an ever cleaner look..
