Some actually say that stock auto can take more power than stock manual. It's just that with manual it's way easier to upgrade it.
I'm pretty sure it can take that boost.

It will handle it but a trany oil cooler will go a long way under those conditions. Heat is going to be a factor. That and the low stall speed, but the heat more so.

I have had my auto running 10psi for about the past 2 months with no tranny cooler, and no signs of problems.

Have you already turboed your car?
That's the problem with upgrading a vehicle far above stock -- you will inevitably run into other problems (what I call the "weakest link" factor).
With all the cost, time and aggravation invested into pushing your vehicle far above its original design parameters, you would have been better off buying something like a Subaru WRX STI (in spite of the uglyness factor) where the performance and power is designed in from the ground up and warrantied by the dealer...

Um, that car cost over ten thousand dollars more and for that price you can have a reliable 350 whp elantra that completly owns the STI.

Yeah, it does cost $10K more. Instead, you will invest all the $ in an Elantra and still not have a warranty in case something goes "sproing." So, will it be all wheel drive? I'd like to see it compete on a road rally course. If you can build me an Elantra GT (better yet, a Tiburon) with a similar engine setup, horsepower, torque, and adjustable AWD and give me a 5 year warranty for $30K, I'll write you a check today.
IMHO, it seems silly to buy one of the cheapest cars you can find and invest loads of $ and time to push it far past it's design when there are other cars that give you the same performance / $ with a warranty. It seems especially silly when the car you're starting with has a 10 year / 100,000 mile engine and powertrain warranty if you don't mess with the engine!

Well thats what tuning is about... sorry you dont get that. I like the fact that when im done, not only will i be unique, have the satisfaction of doing this myself, and then blowing the doors off an STi

You sound like my dad! Are you 56 years old? I think that taking an inexpensive car and making it better in your own ways are what make the tuner movement so interesting and unique.
