Hello,

Well I recently had this problem with my 2001 Elantra P0105 MAP/ BARO Circuit Malfunction. It says that the sensor located in the manifold that measures the barometric pressure may be dirty, or needs to be replaced. Also, the air filter may be involved according to other websites and online research. I would like to know if any of you know where this sensor is located to be replaced. Has any of you had this problem before? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are looking at the intake manifold it would be the sensor thats right in the middle of the plenum. Two screws hold it on. Very easy to get to and change.

I've never heard of a map sensor throwing a code because it's dirty. Did you check your air filter? If the filter is dirty, then it will create a lower than normal pressure in the intake manifold causing the MAP to read a different pressure than the ECM thinks it should, and could cause a code this way. Could also be a failing sensor. Without a scan tool and vacuum guage it would be pretty hard to accurately diagnose this past a failing sensor, but without proper diag tools I would just replace the sensor.
