Probably would have been done by now if i had seen this thread before, but better late than never.

So first, who is interested in a new "tuscani" front bumper for the elantras?

01-03 Elantras
Blastation (with BC2 rear and sides)
Sliderdai (with BC2 rear and sides)

04-06 Elantras
ilanpro (with BC2 rear and sides)

And for those of you who are interested, what kind of rear and sides would you want (not ncessary for the front bumper part of the group buy)?

Prebuy price would be 225 for the front bumper. Probably 50 dollars for the OEM tuscani foglights (not 100% sure, but not much more than that)

Prebuy price for a full kit of tuscani front, BC2 rear and sides would be 595.

Regular price once completed would be 325 for the front, and 875 for the full kit.

Shipping for the bumper by itself is 125 to any address. Full kit 160 to business, 205 to residential.

No fender flares for the kit.

By the way, I think i want to make an application specific bumper for the 04-06. Until now we have used the 01-03 Elantra bumper for the 04-06 (for the 4 door), since minor modification only was needed for it to work. But would you guys like one specifically for each car?

You'd only have to make an adjustment to one mold in order to make it work for one style or the other. I would think it would be whatever is cheaper for you all, so the added cost doesn't get passed on to us customers.

By the way, we are NOT making a new rear for the 5 door. Not enough demand, and the one we have now i think fits quite well. So if you have a 5 door, just put your name down for the front bumper which will fit of course, and if you want the new BC2 side skirts. If you need the rear, we will give the special price too for our regular buddy club rear.

Granted, if we have 5 prebuys for a new BC2 rear for the 5 door i could make it, but honestly looking at the ratio of 4 door kits ive sold to 5 door, i cant imagine wed have 5 people here interested in a new 5 door rear.

another thing is this kit fiberglass? and is it the strong fiberglass? how many layers?

Yes, kit is fiberglass. I dont remember how many layers the factory puts, actually thats not the most important thing. The important thing is the gel coat used, the resin used, and how it all works together, including the number of layers. The mixture they use now we have been using for 5 years now, and it works for us. Not too brittle, not too stiff, not too wobbly either. Ive had a cuda kit from this factory on my car for 4 years with no problems.

Another thing I would like to see is the Plate piece removed, it takes away from the roundness of the front, you can add a removable plate holder or something.

will it have the holes for the factory fog lights? the stock tib bumper has those black palstic fog lap trims where the small round progectors fit but since the bumper is fiberglass im just wondering, will we still be able to use the factory tib fog lamps on the fiberglass kit? and also can we use the factory tib grill like the one in the picture above?

What are those sides? It will have the holes for the factory fog lights from the tiburon...ill try to figure out how to make it work. We will make it so that its a basic install. No cutting and repasting necessary for install. For anyone in southern california at our partner shop paint and install will be 500-850 depending on how nice you need it.

Just my thoughts, that is what I would buy. I really like the front. It IMO, is the better choice. I like the R34 sides and rear out of all the kit ava.

I just started my Supervisor job Monday, and they told me that my pay week is different from when I was on hourly, so I will have a 3 week check on the 29th. Maybe I can convince the wife to let me get on the GB here. I put in 76 hours just this week (two weeks to go), I EARNED IT!!!

I can make anything, but as mentioned it takes people interested. if youd like start a new thread and check how many else are interested. However, id have to make sure those fake muffler tips are available, and reflector lights, and the price would be more since id have to invest in another 500 dollars just to get the forenza bumper to get the design off of., not to mention the "extras" that the bumpe rhas.

Which body kit took a year and half? The Y2 kit? Thats the only one we made for that car, and we made it pretty fast i though. The hood, if you were number 3, then you probably were the last to prebuy it...i know we never got to 5...but after waiting, and people cancelling, we still went ahead and made it all on our own dime. Like i mentioned elsewhere, we really need these prebuys, but even if we dont get them, sometimes we want to see the product so bad ourselves, if too much time has passed we will end up forking the money over ourselves and making sure it gets done.

Post number 6 of this thread....and the j2 kit took forever for you guys...my buddy ordered it and it took damn near a year and a half for him to recieve it...except the side skirts...he got those a few month before the bumpers...but i guess from my understanding you guys did not make that kit???

I like the forenza kit...screw the muffler tips, but make a dual exhaust rear section for the xd2...That would be pimp. Use the oval tips that you already use and make oval cutouts. Then people would be encouraged to buy the exhaust as well...:D

If I could come up with the $200 for the side skirts in a week or two, I'd order those too. I'm not wanting the rear bumper. Since I've got the hatch, I want the lip kit for the rear, that is just two pieces, one for either side of the bumper. I can't remember where I saw them, I'll find them later on. I think they were for the 01-03's, but it'll work on my car just fine. Just have to find them.

What I meant by guinea pig was you were the first one to pay for the order, that's all. I know they mean business, and they wouldn't go through all the effort they do if they didn't. There have been some upset people, but if everyone understands that this prebuy is just that, and it'll take some time for the bumpers to be done and sent out, everything should be okay. I just hope it doesn't take too long. It would seem that the hold up is on our end right now, getting those 5 orders.

I have to agree. **** brakes, and you have to pay to fix it. I don't know how many times I have had the money saved up to do the HID's that I just installed, and something comes up that it has to wait. I spent hundreds of dollars in training my new employees last week to make prototype bumpers, so now we have the capability to do it in house agian for the first time in 3 years. So once we start (as long as we can get a car), the process hopefully will be fast. Although this is the first time i have EVER made a new bumper where the top part (R34 bumper) is going to be fiberglass, and the bottom part is plastic. so hope there are no issues with that once we put it to mold. Usually we take an OEM top part and chop it to a fiberglass style.

Let me throw something out there to you guys. It would mean about 1.5 months-2 months more on production time, but it would get us a more set date, lessen the price, and get better quality.

Here are the details.

We are partering with another company to open a new body kit factory in Asia. WHy are we doing this? Well, our USA factory is very convinient (20 minutes away from us, usually only 3 weeks from the time of getting prototype we can get bumpers), and for USA quality its the best ive ever seen for the price. However, its not perfect. Most of the cost of a body kit is in the labor, not the materials. The hours it takes to set the fiberglass sand it down to make it perfect, etc. Here in the USA we have to pay minimum wage, at minimum so can only afford so much prep and finishing work on the bumpers.

However in asia, employees get on average room, board, and 30-50 dollars per...........MONTH! So obviously we can spend a lot more time on the bumpers and still have a cheaper manufacturing price. If this is the case, why havent i been manufacturing all of our body kits in Asia? Well, twofold: 1 is racism aside (im asian myself), most of the factories in asia (pretty much all of them) cannot be trusted. You can start a project there, but guaranteed youll be seeing it at 100 dollars on ebay a few months later, because theyre back dooring it there. With the honda market, it doesnt matter as much, but in our market that would be murder. (we went from selling 10-15 a month of Min garage and SC2 tiburon kits to like 1 a month after they got copied). Also, much of the savings is useless unless you order a full container (about 100 full body kits). Again, obviously not going to be done with our few selections.

Well, this new operation will be run by one of our partners we have had for over 5 years. He will personally be overseeing everything. Second, he will have his own distribution for the non hyundai stuff theyre making based here in southern california, meaning that even if we have an order of say 20 bumpers, were paying only the amount we would as if we bought a whole container since we can "piggyback" on his containers.

The quality will be better, and the price will be lower. for this elantra kit, if we make it there, the price would go down by at least 20%. Now, of course the draw back is shipping things back and forth takes weeks and weeks. Im told that if we submit to them an order now, he can ship it out to us, the finished product about 8 weeks from now only, first week of september around there. It would take 2 weeks to get to us.

If you guys are ok with it, then i probably can go ahead and get the prototype ready right away and send it. Whomever has paid for it already would now get shipping for the bumper for only 45 dollars instead of the previously quoted price. And it would be higher quality. Id also go ahead and start the other pieces of the kits if we can just get TWO orders for them (01-03 elantra FB, 2 more, 01-06 side skirts 1 more, 01-06 5door rear bumper 1 more, 01-03 and 04-06 4 door rear 2 each). The drawback is the time. It would probably take lnoger to do it this way than to do it at our factory here by about 6 weeks. However, in my opinion its worth it for the price savings and the improvement in quality.

So even if we dont get the 5 guys, im still getting this done. For the 01 guys, im not going to start it yet inasmuch as we have ZERO prebuys, i think im not going to start that one unless we get at least 2 of the 5 ones.

The people who paid already will get a discount off of their shipping price since they paid under the old prices.

We use a processing service that usually is quite good. Weve never had any major problems with them. Some companies say wait until the next billing cycle for a refund to show up, but usually eprocessing does it 5-9 business days. Very rarely does it take much longer than that, if youve waited already 9 days, im sure any day now it will show up.

wait a minute i was just looking at the site and noticed something very wrong....yam are you not using the facelift bumper like in the picture....and if so why do you have the 01-03 fog lights listed on the site...those will not fit the facelift bumper....so either you have the wrong fog lights listed or you have been fooling everyone into thinking you are using the facelift bumper when ur really not....

Prototype was finished last week. I havent seen it yet. Sucks that we dont have a truck anymore. The guy also didnt take pictures, but the person who had loaned us the car, when she picked it up was pretty impressed.

Havent gotten any emails from anyone about this...remember I always say please email me, sometimes I dont go on any message boards for weeks. Especially now that we opened a new office here in Oceanside in addition to our LA warehouse.

Communication is fine on our part, if you send me an email ill reply to it, but again, ive siad maybe 100 times on this message board, dont count on me being regular here, sometimes i just cant/dont have the time to get on. Email me, call me, IM us, thats the best way to reach us.

By the way, good thing we are doing this other thing where we didnt need the 5 full prebuys to get started, were still stuck at 3, so under the original plan we still wouldnt have even started the prototyping yet....

was able to upload a camera phone picture of the prototype. lighting is not good, but for those thinking this is a "bunk deal" it should show that its underway. (PS what did you mean "another" Bunk deal? Have we started a prebuy on something, got orders, and then never made/shipped the product in the past?)

Lets remember again folks, out of the 8-10 guys that said they would get in on this bumper, we have 3 orders i believe. Yet, even though we originally said we had to do 5 orders to get started, we still figured out a way not only to get it started without the 5 preorders, but to even lower the prebuy price and increase the quality. But people seem to be having heart attacks because I have not signed on to the message board in a few weeks, something i have said many times that i rarely can be on a consistent basis.

Again, please call me, email me, IM the office, call the other warehouse, before getting "worried" or calling this a "bunk deal." Sorry for the rant, but i just get upset when i see stuff like this especially when im busting my butt on this, and making things happen even when we didnt have the pre agreed on preorders, etc.

im completely shaving the door moldings and handles by next years show season along with a two tone paint job....i think....as long as i can get the money up.

"chuckles" With EF it usually means you need paitience. Had to call them up Wed. to remind them about my spoiler that i ordered in July.

It's just a weekly thing you know. Everyone that's involved in this comes in here every other day or so asking where it's at, how's the process going, etc. I'm perturbed about it, that's all. But, since I've backed out on my interest in getting it from EF (though I'd still want one), I'll back out of this thread. I apologize for being rude.

just seeing if there is any update since its been a few weeks and what are the chances of us getting a fluxion style rear bumper for the elantra, the more i look at it the more i would like it. or something closer to the jetta rgt bumper without the bumper lights. hate bumoer lights, they kill a lot of body kits for me, vents and lights on bumpers are cardinal no no's.
