sometimes, i swear, i can not win. today is my g/f and my's (english?) anniversary. i told her 2 weeks ago to try to get off work friday (tomorrow), because i had a suprise for her. 2 weeks ago, i set up for her to take a day at the spa, and she would be leaving about the time i get home from work, then we were going to go to one of her favorite restaraunts for dinner.

well, reference the other thread i mentioned about her possibly getting a new job with/from the neighbor below us. i find out yesterday, she agreed to go in for an interview...i guess daycare interviews arent like regular office interviews...instead, she goes in from 830am-1pm. doesnt really click with the 11am spa appointment i set up for her.

so 6pm the night before its scheduled (today), im calling to see if i can get it moved back until 2. of course, they cant. she said the latest she can set it back is for 11:30.

so much for that idea.

pisses me off more because i planned to let her know about it tonight since i knew she wouldnt be expecting it, but instead i get to give her a lame *** card and say "sorry, you'll have to go some other time"

doesn't matter how hard we try, they always seem to screw it up somehow...then later on when we're not doing things right, they forget the huge plans that they actually ruined themselves, and ask us why we never do anything big and romantic for them. Heh.

That's my cynicism out of the way now. Sorry to hear it didn't work out, better luck next time!

just save your planning, get her a gift card for the spa, and spring it on her when she least expects it...from what i know women love the surprise pampering

not my woman. I gave her a nonexpiring gift card to the spa over 2 yrs ago and she still hasnt used it all. So now I get my sisters to buy something for her from me and some walmart flowers.

Yeah, gift cards all the way. Then they can make the appointment at their own convenience. Deff. better to try to plan it out w/ their boss first if your gonna do it that way.

EDIT: Sorry, just reread the part about the interview. Sucks dude. Maybe you'll get points for thought, lol.

I would of just told her bummer and good luck on the interview. Then go to the spa and tell her how great it was when you get back.

Maybe you missed out on something.

Ever heard; "If shes not happy, you're not happy"?

That's why he doesn't. Well, one of many reasons.;)

I'll include my *sarcasm* dealio next time ;)

Plus she should be happy she just got a better paying job and he could be happy going to the spa I guess :P Never been. So both parties could be happy

Anniversaries are crap anyway. Stupid crap. I used to get Amy some $5 toy that she didn't want. That's how we do.

Lesson learned, spend money on your car and not your girlfriend, because they are overrated.

Very true. Or, at least, spend $5 for flowers and $4 on a card. Then say you love her (if you are to that stage). If that doesn't make her happy she ain't worth it.

Walmart flowers... NICE! I usually get the grocery store ones, still pretty cheap.
