We were looking at getting a 3-4 foot vinyl fence put up.We paid 35 bucks to have someone come out here to measure off the yard.200 feet of fence needed total. The cost $6500 dollars. I said to the guy "excuse me,did I hear you right?" 4 grand and some change for labor.I said F that,i'll do it myself. We priced out all the material needed and it was less than 2 grand. And you guys thought that shop labor is high. It's time for me to change professions.

4 G's to throw up 200 ft. of fence! I wouldn't pay that for 2,000 ft. to go up. That's f'ed up right there. Just get some pizza and beer for a couple buddies and make a day out of it. That's all it takes to get my boys to help w/ a project:D

Thats the best way to do it. Theres so many places that are going overpriced and upscale nowadays because they know they can easily exhort big money out of yuppies who don't want to get their hands dirty.

Every year there are more and more people who don't know the basics of handyman type stuff and end up paying that kind of cash for things that every red blooded American man should know how to do. So props for DIY!

Since I just did my cousins fence for her daycare, I will add - make sure you use an auger for the fence posts.

putting up a vinal fence isnt hard i do landscaping and i just did 300ft yard two days ago and we only charged the people $500 plus supplys. 2000 is a total rip off that kinda seems liek the guy was trying to add some pocket money into that price..

No,2 grand is just parts. Not bad at all.The other 4500 was labor. Also I will be using a auger,no post hole digging for me as I already look like a werewolf if I take my shirt off lol

it depends on what company you go through. my father used to work for Long Fence and 6500 sounds about right. from the time you sign the contract until the time you die/move it is guaranteed with free repairs. if it was some mom and pop, then they are trying to screw you over.

long fence may be one of the best, but they are one of the most expensive, especially for anything that is not a wooden fence, deck, or patio

yeah sorry for some reason i was thinking that labor was only 2000. but at 4500 thats a total rip off.. and espically if they would use an auger its not like 20 hrs. of work. you can rent it and get a case of beed and spend less that 4500 even if you buy your buddys dinner....
