View Full Version : Pics of the STI after a storm

There was a pretty intense thunderstorm and high winds here yesterday and immediately afterwards the sky cleared and turned a little green. And the sun was setting at the same time. All sorts of things were happening with the sky so I jumped at the chance to go take some pics.
As it usually happens most of the pics I take turn out pretty crappy. I took a bunch from different angles that ended up being over-exposed, but here are a few that turned out decent (unfortunately all from the same basic 3/4's view)...

Thanks, it's back on stock springs again. I also removed my front lip spoiler for now. But I evened out the wheel gap by using lowering camber plates up front. And it's on 245/45-17 tires instead of the stock 225/45-17's. Those two things don't change the appearance so much though and it basically looks stock from the outside, but it's not. ;)

Thank you, I used my Canon A710 IS.
I was able to expose the sky the way I wanted but in so doing I under-exposed the car a bit. I need to buy an adapter and a few filters to keep in my camera bag so I'll have a little more flexibility.

Those pics suck and so does your car.
I just thought I'd type that to be different. Why did you take some of the mods off? Did I miss a thread on that?

Don't be alarmed, I took some off, but added others. ;)
I swapped out my lowering springs in favor of the stock springs because the car just didn't have enough suspension travel for some of the rougher roads around here. I installed stiffer sway bars though and finally got my Ohlins struts installed at all 4 corners. The Ohlins struts are one of my favorite mods -- they're simply fantastic.
And I took off the front lip spoiler because I discovered I've been scraping it a little too much. I'm just going to install it for track days from now on.

No, photography is just a hobby for me. I used to do a fair bit of graphic design though so that helps when it comes to post-processing.
Speaking of post-processing I did a little more to this photo to make the car stand out since I think it was under-exposed...
