I have started work on a new Do It Yourself section here on EXD. I've always liked the idea of having seperate web pages for each DIY and now that is coming to a reality. We'll keep the current DIY section open so people can submit DIY's and others can discuss and comment on them as usual. If a DIY is "good enough," meaning it is detailed where it needs to be and includes pictures that help make it easier for other to understand I will turn them into their own seperate pages. So far I've only done a couple (two a day for the last couple days) that had been submitted by other mods, myself, or from Hyundai themselves. I didn't want to use other people DIY's until they told me it was ok with them, but I'll definately be making DIY pages that have been submitted by any and all members. If anyone has submitted a DIY and think it's good to go just post here and let me know and I'll get to work on making more and more pages everyday.

Here is the main Do It Yourself page: www.elantraxd.com/DIY/index.html

This is some pretty basic stuff as you can see. First I'd like to get a lot of DIY's up and then clean up the appearance of each page. I want to use a color scheme that is similar to the forums, but I'm not completely sold on the current color scheme (for the DIY page). Please feel free to comment on anything and try to give me some suggestions on how to improve the new DIY section.

my assumption would then be that if we had posted a DIY you would then inturn let those people know whether it was satisfactory...and the person who did could then approve upon what was already there....with suggestions from you...right?

First I wanted people who wanted their DIY to be made into a seperate page to let me know (here in this post). Then we'd talk about whether or not it was good to go. For example, your coilover DIY is good to go, so if you want me to make it into a page then I'll get to it tonight. Just let me know, and this goes for anyone.

yeah as long as you think that it could possibly help somebody!

It's up. Thanks for being brave and letting it go up for everyone to see (not like everyone couldn't see it already). I did make some grammatical and formatting changes but I think it represents the DIY very well.

So, who wants to be next? Same day turnaround is pretty good I'd say...

Update- Throttle Body Bypass now up as well. More coming tomorrow.

Pretty Cool....you think you could maybe link that up to the top of the forum so it's a click away?

I'm gonna work on that. Keep the suggestions and new DIY's coming.

Hey I like the DIY... I"m in the process of writing one for replacing a fuel filter... I took a bunch of pictures when I was in the process.

I think it would be nice if the top of the DIY had a quick summary of what this DIY is about, what you expect to happen, etc. In a normal thread you have a discussion of sorts that leads up to an improtu DIY. I think that a synopsis of the DIY (just the basics) is needed to fill in the discussions void.

One thing, could you make the name of the person doing the DIY a PM link (if OK by the poster)? Would make it easier to ask questions or some suggestions.

Might want to delete references to http://www.elantraxd.com/DIY/diymain.html (such as on the front page) as it's an outdated page with broken links.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we've made some visual updates in the DIY section now as well. How's it look?
