Painting on saturday...

Yes ladies and gentlemen it's official. The car is getting painted on saturday one way or another. My paint guy says he's not sure if he can do it yet or not (he and his wife just had a baby last friday). So if he can't do it. It'll be me..... Iv'e been practicing at work and feel confident enough to lay the base down myself. now the candied clear is gonna be tricky but as long as i mix it right i'll be okay. plus i got the okay from the boss to pull it in the booth at work too so that works in my favor since the shop is only 4 miles from my house...... Wish me luck and pic will be taken throughout the process.:D :D :D :D :D

Gunmetal gray with an electric purple ghost candied clearcoat. so it'll look gunmetal but when the sun reflects back it will be purple light

Sounds good, I can't wait to see the finished product. I like gunmetal gray, it's said Hyundai doesn't have more cars with that color. That clear coat will look awesome too. What made you decide to use those 2 colors?

I love gunmetal gray. I painted my hub caps that color. the purple was just an idea i came up with because my mom got me a bunch of purple neons for the car (underbody, floors, and a couple of short tubes for in the trunk) Thanks mom. I asked for the green ones since the car was originally green. But she heard me say purple and i couldn't tell her she got the wrong ones. so thats where that came from. my buddy Rock has a CRX thats a dirty diaper green with a blue candied clearcoat that looks great except for the dirty diaper green base coat.

You can dedicate that portion of your car to her now.

Baby **** green, not my first choice in color. However, the different paint schemes that are available now are insane, I really like the direction people are going with them.

i really liked the Chrome paint on the brand new mustang they did on an episode of Pimp my ride(and i dont like mustangs or chrome but it was pretty nice). Now all i gotta do is get some rims and work on my lip kit. and finish up the n/a aspect of the car.

Hyundai has a Charcoal Gray, Carbon Gray, Steel Gray, Dark Titanium Gray which all appear very similar (and might even be the same color code, or maybe not) on all of their 2007 lineup except the Veracruz and the Entourage.

You are right, I wish they would have had these colors earlier.

Im kinda going for a silver/gold/purple look, with black accents. Should be interesting...
