My cradle for my mp3 player is it sitting the little tray below the the stereo/HVAC controls in the center consel. What ever they put down there seems to give it a nice grip, so it doesn't slide around much.

Mine is residing in the glovebox.
I control it using my pioneer HU so I dont need a cradle for the ipod, just a hookup and somewhere safe to lock it.

yea, mine is gonna be controlled by my jvc headunit, but i want a place that i can get in the car, plug it in and drive off without having to reach over to the glove box.

Some people have been using the Ipod dock and cutting it to fit in the ashtray, look for Keyan's thread, it was pretty cool.

Well, just chop, and press into. It's not hard, man. lol
Though keep in mind that he has an XD2 which is why the ashtray was kind of spring-loaded.

i just have the cable running straight to the ipod and in the little cubby in the center console behind the cup holders. granted i have a GA, but it is about the same for the elantra minus the ebrake position and cup holder locations (i think)
i came across this and just throwing this out there.

those are old pics.
keep in mind, you can only do this to an XD2 spring loaded ash tray. the XD1's trays are way too small.
there is a video around on the net of me opening and closing it, as well.

How did you do that?? Tho does your radio control the ipod? I still have to scroll thru my ipod. So i doubt it would work for me.
