I'll re-post this because we lost the first one.

I am looking for a way to delay the time it takes for the lights to come on when the sensor tells it to. IOW, I don't like the way that the headlights come on when I am driving underneath a bridge on the highway. I am about to install HID's and I don't want them getting power just to have the power cut in another 3 seconds.

Thanks.

no our cars don't come with auto lights, but it's an option on the elantra so all u need is a few parts ($50-100) from a junkyard or dealer and install it fairly easy.

If u can change the location of the sensor so it gets more light then maybe it will be delayed until you go under the bridge, I know this defeats the purpose of auto lights but u could also turn the lights off when going under a bridge.

I wasn't aware that u could delay the signal.

I think I need to install a timer in the circuit. If I can find the right one, I should be able to delay the signal to the controller for about 10 seconds or so. That should be long enough for me to clear the bridge.

I'll try it, and see what happens.
